Dear @easyJet
My flight EZY8205 from London Gatwick to Zakynthos on 27 June 2026 was cancelled by easyJet. On 30 June I submitted a claim, and on 12 July 2026 I received your response assessing it as a compensation claim and declining compensation due to extraordinary circumstances.
To be clear: I am not writing about compensation. I am requesting a full refund of my unused ticket under Article 8(1)(a) of Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 as retained in UK law. This entitlement is unconditional and applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, extraordinary circumstances are not relevant to it. The refund was due within 7 days of the cancellation.
I did not travel on this flight or accept rerouting or a voucher. I am unable to request the refund through Manage Bookings, as the booking now incorrectly shows the flight as "flown".
Please process the refund to my original payment method and confirm in writing within 7 days. If the refund is not processed, I will escalate this to AviationADR and/or pursue recovery via my card provider.
I have submitted this complaint through your online form, I hope to hear back from you soon before escalating this.
@furbabygirl Because Muslim use Muhammad as boys name by default, therefore every male child born in the UK by default they will have Muhammad in their name. So there were more Muslim baby Born in the UK. Unfortunately you can't trace girls name as they don't have to have Muhammad in theirs.
"Why did Western civilisation produce the overwhelming majority of the world’s scientific revolutions, technological innovation, constitutional government and economic prosperity over the past three centuries, while the Islamic civilisation did not?
Today, at every university, students and educators would name “colonialism” as the main factor for this asymmetry.
If colonialism was the decisive variable, why did India emerge as one of the world’s leading technological and economic powers after independence in 1947, while Pakistan has fallen so far behind?"
My latest essay explores a different framework.
