Canada’s real economy in one post
🇨🇦7.5M retirees
4.6M public-sector workers
~2M on social assistance
= 14 million living on the tax base
funded by 16.5 million private-sector workers.
Government jobs and transfers inflate GDP and generate “revenues,” but they do not create wealth.
They transfer it.
The private sector produces the surplus.
Everything else is a claim on that surplus.
@NoLimitGains Alberta 47% marginal (so effective is more 35%) over 270k and only 5% GST so not as bad but still crazy for “just free healthcare” but still need to wait months for shit
Rule changes for the SpaceX $SPCX IPO:
Index providers waived the profitability requirement and cut the seasoning window from 90 days to 5.
This forces over $30 trillion in passive 401k and retirement money to buy SpaceX at IPO valuations.
Bloomberg Intelligence estimates S&P 500 funds must absorb 19% of SpaceX's float within 6 months.
Russell 1000 and Nasdaq 100 funds will absorb 24%.
The rules built to protect passive investors:
1. S&P 500 has required 12 months of trading and 4 quarters of GAAP profitability since 2002. Both waived.
2. Nasdaq cut its inclusion window from 90 trading days to 15.
3. FTSE Russell cut its to 5.
All three benchmarks are now structured to buy SpaceX at IPO pricing.
BREAKING: Mark Carney is the ONLY leader in the G7 to lead his economy into a RECESSION. All other G7 countries face the same tariff and global problems, yet none are in a recession.
Excuses, speeches, buzzwords, and signing ceremonies do not grow the economy.
Canada is the only G7 country in recession because of Carney Liberals hiking industrial carbon taxes, kept anti-development laws, and doubling Trudeau’s deficit.
This is another trans mountain pipeline day dream. Fuck BC, put it down thru Washington and out to the coast. Could be done before September 1 deadline on “the decision”
When Alberta stands strong, Ottawa listens.
Our province is on track to double our energy production in the coming years, beginning with the pipeline to the West Coast that will move more than 1 million additional barrels of Alberta oil per day to new markets— with construction targets as early as September 2027.
We have also successfully pushed back on harmful federal policies by securing an elimination on the oil and gas production cap, stopping net-zero power regulations from being imposed on Alberta, ensuring Alberta companies are no longer censored under "greenwashing" provisions, and reducing severe, planned increases to the Trudeau-era industrial carbon tax.
These are big wins for Alberta workers, families, and our economy.
