SF菅生大会、決勝はP10でした。

予選で抱えていた問題を改善することができ、決勝では力強いペースで順位を上げることができました。

SCによる混乱もありましたが、次戦につながる手応えのあるレースになりました。
まだ改善すべき点もあるので、インターバルの間にしっかりと準備して、さらに強くなって戻ってきたいと思います。

🇯🇵 Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak Prototype

Early Test

The Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak Special is one of the most legendary, extreme, and widely recognized hill-climb racing cars in motorsport history.

Built specifically to tackle the grueling Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado, it was driven by Japanese racing driver Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima. 

Engineering and Performance

While it wore the silhouette of a Suzuki Escudo (known globally as the Vitara or Sidekick), the vehicle was a purpose-built tubular-frame silhouette racer sharing almost nothing with a production road car.

Engine:

Mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged 2.5-liter V6 engine (though earlier iterations utilized twin-engine configurations). 

Power Output:

Roughly 981bhp at 8,000 rpm. This massive power figure was chosen intentionally to combat the severe power loss combustion engines face at high altitudes as the Pikes Peak course climbs to over 14,000 feet. 

Weight:

An ultralight 800 kg (approx. 1,764 lbs), achieved through extensive use of carbon fiber and lightweight composite body panels.

Aerodynamics:

Marked by massive downforce-generating additions, including a colossal rear wing, a aggressive front splitter, and distinct body channels designed to keep the car glued to the loose gravel and mixed asphalt surfaces of the mountain. 

Drivetrain:

Full-time four-wheel drive paired with a 6-speed sequential transmission. 

In reality, Monster Tajima and Suzuki fielded several iterations of custom hill-climb monsters through the 1990s and 2000s. While Tajima secured multiple overall victories at Pikes Peak (and later dominated events like New Zealand's "Race to the Sky"), the car specific twin-turbo V6 Escudo variant most famous to the public primarily secured podium finishes and podium-conquering attempts during its competitive window. 

For an entire generation of gamers, the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak Special is a household name due to its inclusion in the Gran Turismo video game series (most famously Gran Turismo 2, as well as later iterations like Gran Turismo 7).
In Gran Turismo 2, it achieved mythical status: 

It was widely considered the fastest, most violently accelerating car in the game.

Players could tune it to surpass 1,000 horsepower easily.
