China has shipped the world’s largest offshore converter station for installation at sea, where it will connect two massive offshore windfarms to the national power grid.
This massive energy hub weighs 25,000 tonnes and measures 85.5m long by 82.5m wide. It is the world's first ±500-kilovolt, 2,000-megawatt (2 GW) flexible HVDC platform.
Uses seawater for passive cooling instead of energy-heavy air conditioning, achieving an incredibly efficient Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.15
@ray_omollo@ray_omollo Good job. I hope there are plans to build a better bridge on that river. On a heavy rainy season it’s uncrossable and people are forced to use longer routes to access their homes
@KeRRA_Ke Machakos- kwa mutisya- kali road has 2 seasonal rivers which have been drowning residents every rainy season. It has already claimed 3 lives, kindly do sth
@africaupdates I fully support this, it would be a game changer. Link railways with Machakos bus station. Go underground with the market. On ground floor have the buses, top deck get trains, trams or BET Buses
