A case:
1/ A woman in her 30's presents with:
-Progressive fatigue over 6-8 weeks
-Slurred speech at times
-Difficulty chewing and swallowing dinner
Exam:
-Speech is a bit nasal
-Mild proximal weakness in the legs
-Sensory reflexes and gait normal.
-Able to stand up easily out of the chair
Normal sensation and reflexes, without a clear focal pattern, makes a central process unlikely.
