🚎✨ Throwback Thursday: The Brown Hotel, 1948
In 1948, the Louisville Railway Company provided service to the iconic The Brown Hotel as downtown Louisville bustled with shoppers, workers, and travelers.
Long before Transit Authority of River City was created in 1974, Louisville Railway buses and streetcars connected people to jobs, hotels, restaurants, and entertainment across the city. Public transit played a vital role in keeping downtown moving and supporting the businesses, destinations, and daily life that made Louisville’s urban core thrive.
Different buses. Different era. Same mission: moving Louisville forward. 🚍
