Nationalists/Republicans/Catholics are not allowed to speak their mind. Sinn Fein and IRA factions will control what you are to think and you will be intimidated with threats and violence if you dare to disagree.
Unionism allows for a broad spectrum of opinions and freedoms.
Because if you believe in a fair moderate immigration reform anti racist policy in west Belfast you get assaulted, followed by dissidents and death threats @SJA_McC

@IslingtonChap There are plenty of people from Belfast who live/work in London and all over the world. The majority of the population are not what you think. Nor are they on the streets. Several thousand spread over different areas across the country but not huge numbers.
@MatthewOToole2 I guess it was too much of a stretch for you to ease tensions?
There are plenty of right wing Irish influencers espousing the same things.
The video of the attack was the direct reason for the angry mobs on the street. I don't think they give a fuck what is said on SM
@Bazzinho9 Wouldn’t doubt it for a second that it wasn’t just some random attack on an innocent bystander but the entire scene is brutal and harrowing. The man cutting him with the knife comes across in the worst possible way to stoke anger and tension
@FightHypocrisy1 It always seems to be that way with any form of street violence here now. Much of it is recreational for a large percentage of ‘rioters’. See Derry in the past few months.
@realhansard They will be recording and making arrests in days, weeks and months to come.
Although it has to be said that violence has often worked here in the past on both sides of the divide.
I love my wee home of NI. I’ve seen a lot of the world through my military career. But I chose to move back here after I retired.
The people here are the best.
A few idiots amongst a crowd of the best.
NI is a welcome, tolerant, respectful society.
The thugs will not win
@BillSmyth3 They are holier than thou it seems and will sure take any opportunity to turn things sectarian as if the Irish or people in 'their own' communities are responsible for similar behaviour.
