Opening a box of cigars in Canada brings about cynical frustration. Three women, Jane Philpott, Chantal Petitclerc, and Ginette Petitpas Taylor are responsible for the useless Tobacco plain packaging laws.
If being Impossible to age in the flimsy cardboard packaging without imparting an aftertaste wasn’t bad enough, the macabre medical images on a luxury product compare only to the horrors of late term abortion.
Even the UK didn’t fuck this up as badly as Canada. England kept a cigar exemption because they understood the “hypothetical teenager” wouldn’t be persuaded to stop buying cigars through packaging changes - because teenagers don’t buy cigars.
The same people who tell you abortion is a right because you can choose what you do with your body created this nanny bureaucracy - while running government cannabis stores and safe injection sites. Putting three women in charge and destroying an important male past time speaks to how far we have fallen as a nation. Total contempt.⚡️
Today the Bolsheviks brutally murdered Tsar Nicholas (50), Empress Alexandra (46), Grand Duchesses Olga (22), Tatiana (21), Maria (19), Anastasia (17) and Tsarevich Alexei (13) along with their four loyal staff Dr. Eugene Botkin, Anna Demidova, Alexei Trupp and Ivan Kharitonov and two of their dogs. They died as Holy Royal Martyrs on July 17, 1918. A solemn reminder of the spiritual war we are in, with an enemy very much alive today.
It is time that the Anglos demand their fundamental right to carry their ancestral seax. It is our duty to uphold our ancestral traditions that bring this spiritual fulfilment.

A Sikh claims he was racially targeted at GoodLife Fitness after an employee said she was scared because he was carrying a knife inside the gym and asked him to leave.

The coffered ceiling with its full entablature is magnificent. The entablature is made up of three elements - the architrave, the frieze, and the cornice. You can imagine that ornate Renaissance Revival millwork of this era was incredibly difficult, time consuming, and expensive to produce by hand. With innovations in CNC machining for wood and 3D printing for plaster mouldings, right now it is possible to create similar complex ornamentation for a fraction of the cost, and I hope for a reasonable chance this could contribute to a future revival of architectural beauty.
@DarkDarkmarx Yes it totally limits what is available. Many Nicaraguan, Honduran and Dominican brands don't want to bother with it, and LCDH only releases certain vitolas to the Canadian market.
Looking at the skylines of Shenzhen and Chongqing i can’t help but think of Blade Runner. It’s amazing what’s possible when a society is set up for manufacturing.
Europe is struggling not being a major producer, but still has managed to maintain its unbelievable inherited beauty.
Dubai and Doha have built marvels from desert oil & cheap indentured labour.
Of course, Canada is set on doing the opposite of what it should be.
@athabaskanelite@UCCavalier this is an even greater cruel and unusual punishment than a lack of cedar boxes for cigars. not having the ability to cellar tins.
One of the places in Montreal where I blew lots of cash: the Mount Stephen Club.
I remember bringing a girl up these stairs to the 2nd floor, where we made out.
A charmingly decadent place where people can easily hide to get down.
The spiritually bankrupt nature of Vancouver can be observed in different ways. One that bugs me, in arguably the most beautiful building in the city (the Marine building) there’s a restaurant called the Brass Fish Tavern that replaced an English pub. The potential was there to build greatness …. (Continued below)
The space could have been amazing. An opportunity for aesthetics comparable to the New York Palace Cafe in Budapest - or Cafe Pushkin, Moscow… maybe Cafe Imperial in Prague. But no. That beautiful space was stripped of its soul, damned to be another minimalist contemporary cookie cutter restaurant. A whale hanging from the ceiling and TVs everywhere for sports. Montreal is the only place in this country with any character. Canadian contemporary interior design is a reflection of our decline.
Patriotism without nationalism is just state-worship.
Praying to the government. Naked obeisance to power. Stockholm syndrome at scale. Modern version of deified Roman emperors, but with bureaucracies. I am vomit
