I recently built Amanah, inspired by the seriousness Islam places on settling debts.

The long-term vision is simple:

To make “Before burial, check Amanah” a standard practice helping Muslims privately record debts and appoint trusted people, while protecting their privacy and making it easier to resolve obligations after death.

We’ve already welcomed 400+ users, with 200+ records created.

I’d be honoured if you could take a look and share any advice.

The Prophet ﷺ placed great importance on settling the debts of the deceased.

That made me ask myself:

How do we uphold that Sunnah today, when someone could pass away in one country while the person they owe lives in another?

That question led me to build Amanah.

The vision is simple:

“Before burial, check Amanah.”

Amanah helps Muslims privately record debts, assets and appoint trusted people, while protecting their privacy. Even when someone searches for a user, their private records are never exposed.

Alhamdulillah, we’ve already welcomed 400+ users, with 200+ records created.

Nigeria boycotted the Commonwealth Games in 1986 on the principle of fighting against apartheid.

Nigeria did not have a personal quarrel with the citizens of the UK or Edinburgh; it was on principle. So saying that artist should be allowed to perform in Nigeria because we have no personal quarrel is myopic.

There is a time for everything; maybe someday she will come back and do a bigger concert in Nigeria, but not at this time.

I don’t want Amanah to just be another app Muslims use.

I want it to become a standard.

The Prophet ﷺ would ask about a deceased person’s debt before the funeral prayer: “Did he leave any debt?”

That was possible in a community where people knew one another.

But this is the 21st century.

What if the person you owe is in London, while you’re being buried in Lagos?

How would they know? How would your family know?

This is part of why I’m building Amanah.

Your debts and assets remain private. Even when someone searches for you, Amanah does NOT expose what you owe, what you own, or the identities of your trustees.

It simply helps them reach the people you trusted to handle your affairs.

My long-term vision is simple:
For Amanah to become a standard for Muslims everywhere.
