As we speak today, Kenyan politics remains the graveyard of imagination because the people who rule this country keep becoming billionaires without building anything that can honestly be called industry.

Take Rigathi Gachagua as an example.

He is a billionaire today, yet when you ask what serious industry he owns, what factory he built, what product he created, what export empire he established or what invention changed people’s lives, the answer disappears into tenders, land, proxies and state access.

If you want to track stolen Kenyan money today, stop looking for complicated explanations and just follow the plots, the sudden apartments, the ranches, the malls, the relatives and the proxies who become rich without any visible enterprise.

Kenya’s political class has perfected the art of turning public office into private land, then calling the proceeds investment.

Now look at gambling and ask yourself why almost all politicians are linked to betting, Aviator style addiction and gambling companies that drain poor Kenyans every day.

A young man loses his last fifty shillings chasing fake hope on his phone, while the same political class that ruined the economy stands behind the machinery taking the money.

From Ruto to Gachagua and the wider political class around them, the problem is not just corruption but a total lack of creativity.

These people are not creative enough to build industries, so they build gates around public money and charge Kenyans to pass through their own country.

They do not create value for citizens, they create access for themselves, and when they gather in one place, you are not looking at leaders with ideas but at the easiest industry in Kenya for people whose only real talent is extracting money from poor citizens without shame.

Not that this will accomplish anything, since you people hit the "off" switch inside your brains once your religion is mentioned, but for the benefit of the roughly 9 teachable people left in Nigerja, here is what is REALLY happening around you:

1. China is winning the economic war with the US, and the US is aware that it can no longer compete industrially with China, which is already a larger economy than the US in PPP terms. The only reason the US economy is still nominally larger is that the US dollar remains wildly overvalued due to its use as the global reserve currency.

2. The rise of BRICS means that the end of the US dollar as global reserve currency is coming. Once that happens, the US economy will implode, because it is built on exporting USD and importing the world's productivity. Without the overvalued USD as an imperial tool for controlling and extracting from the rest of the planet, the US will basically become Brazil with nuclear warheads.

3. The Trump administration knows this, which is why it has gone into full imperial mode, renaming the DoD to "Department of War," and preparing to deploy the US military across Latin America as part of its 'Monroe Doctrine.' The idea is to secure land, resources, and spheres of influence to compete with China and Russia, since it is no longer the unilateral superpower.

4. In this new multipolar world whose birth you are witnessing, there will be 3 or 4 great powers instead of just one, and all of them will compete and jostle for influence and access to resources. That is what you are witnessing playing out in Nepal, Bangladesh, the Sahel, the Middle East, Venezuela, and many other places. Yes, there are local factors, but everything exists in this wider context of a world being reshaped in front of our eyes.

5. During this reshaping of the world, Africa - the only continent with a majority of its states professing 'nonalignment' with any great power - is the biggest prize that is up for grabs. All of tomorrow's technology, which guarantees economic and military supremacy is built on resources found in DR Congo, Northern Nigeria, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Chad, Sudan and Somalia. (What unique security situation do all these places have in common?)

6.During this reshaping, "international institutions" are debased and made irrelevant. Bibi Netanyahu has an ICC arrest warrant that nobody will honour, and the US government sanctioned the ICC for issuing the warrant, even locking the ICC Chief Prosecutor out of his email and bank accounts. The UN has officially declared Gaza to be a genocide - and nothing happened. And nothing will happen because these "institutions" no longer have of the teeth they once pretended to have.

7. This means that the days of one state cooking up a reason to invade or annex another state - something expressly forbidden since 1945 - are now back. And since Africa has what everybody wants, any great power is now free to deploy a geopolitical meme ("Christian Genocide in Nigeria") and use it to justify invasion to take what it wants. In other words, colonialism is coming back - not IMF/World Bank, suit-wearing, conference-attending, Business-English-speaking, polite neo-colonialism, but open, obvious colonial theft and thuggery. This is not decades away - it is a few years away at the most.

8. Russia considers Europe to be its rightful sphere of influence and trade dominance. Hence it views European access to cheap African resources as a threat. Thus Russia is stepping in to provide military and infrastructure support for African states so that they can start to use their own resources for themselves and leave Europe dependent on Russia. Europe and the US see this as an existential threat, hence their proxy war in Ukraine and their new geopolitical meme ("Christian Genocide in Nigeria") to justify direct military occupation of West Africa.

9. No great power gives a single fuck about "Nigerian Christian genocide." All you are is a means to an end!

Lately, I’ve seen so many reports of cars being torched by bodaboda riders after accidents. And every time, the blame game starts.

Now, I know not everyone will agree with me on this, but here’s how I see it .

The root cause here isn’t just “angry riders” it’s the failure to actually implement our traffic laws.

Think about it. When a bodaboda rider is hit, the law says the accident should be reported, investigated, and if the driver is at fault, compensation given. But that almost never happens.

Most of the time, the car speeds off. If the case is reported, corruption usually takes over leading to shoddy investigations. Even when the driver is clearly in the wrong, police are bribed, cases disappear, or courts hand out laughably light punishments.

And when it comes to insurance compensation? That drags on for years. There are many families who have never been compensated. Most riders don’t have the money to hire lawyers or chase long cases so they’re left frustrated and helpless.

So what happens? People who feel like they’ll never get justice lash out. That’s where the burning of cars comes in according to their mindset. It’s not right, but it’s also not happening in a vacuum.

The only real solution is simple: enforce traffic laws properly, speed up compensation, and make the process fair. Human beings respond when cornered and that’s exactly what’s happening here.

I’ve lived in the UK and seen how effective enforcement works. Honestly, the fact that we don’t talk about this side of the problem in Kenya still surprises me.

Unless we deal with the root cause nothing will change

KCB BANK & EQUITY GROUP SHOULD MERGE: KCB Group just announced 1st Half Results today recording a Ksh 32.3Bn PAT. Equity Group released the same earlier in the week recording a Net Profit of Ksh 33Bn. Growth is being fueled by regional Subsidiaries like DRC etc.

Interestingly, KCB's shareholders Funds are now over Ksh 300Bn while the market Capitalisation is at Ksh 158.5Bn by the close of the market today. The bank is therefore trading at around 0.52 Price to Book value.

Equity Bank's Shareholders Funds are at Ksh 274Bn and Market Capitalisation of 205Bn. The share is therefore trading at 0.75 to Book value.

Several things.

1. The current trend of the Stock market is dividend driven. Shareholders are not necessarily interested in growth strategy but by the bottom line that end in the pocket.

2. Both banks are trading at around discount. Below 1 to Book value.

3. Both companies are now singularly almost as Profitable as Safaricom PLC. They are peers on profitability. However with a market cap of Ksh 1Trillion, Safaricom is valued 5 times more than either.

4. KCB has an asset Base of Ksh 2Trillion. Equity Bank has Assets of Ksh 1.8 Trillion.

What should happen - Own Opinion.

With growth being fueled by the regional Subsidiaries, probably either of the bank should attempt a takeover on the other or they both agree to merge. Below are the reasons;

1. A KCB - Equity Group would optimise of cost especially in regards to branch network, IT etc.

2. The combined group would increase margins especially in regional markets like DRC where they are number 1 and 2. Why compete when they can take low lying fruits?

3. The group would form the largest Bank in Africa outside of South Africa.

4. The group would literally run the Financial sector in Africa.

5. With a combined asset Base of Ksh 3.8 Trillion and a combined capital base of over Ksh 580 Billion, it would be a consequential group to lend to huge development projects including lending to sovereigns.

6. With a Net Profitability of over Ksh 120Bn a year, the group would have enough muscle to even take on South African banks like Standard Bank further entrenching dominance. One year profit would be enough to take over Access Bank or UBA Group.

7. The group would place Kenya as a very serious economy, especially in the financial sector. And then to other sectors.

Bottom line - Dr. James Mwangi or Mr. Paul Russo must do something to make this happen. It would be superb for our country on the African map. We can deal with competition issues later. For now, give Kenyans a KCB - Equity Group.

Congratulations to both great Kenyans. They are already doing great for the Kenyan Economy.
