@scigrapher1234 There are more ads than people. The people who are still here must like ads more than they like me, and I’m ok with leaving them behind.
. @SlackHQ I’m fine with the switch to huddles. But please let me set a default that opens the video window to a pre-set size. I have to click, click, and resize before a huddle is usable. We NEVER use a huddle with just voice (always either a screen share or video). Never.
I have created my first Voice Pack over at Itch -- It's "things a character might say in a computer RPG", voiced by two different characters, open for use to remix in new games. It went pretty well. Go check it out: https://t.co/w6nUNezar2
Just to let the few of you know who are still here for some reason— My 3rd party client stopped authenticating to Twitter today. The official client is incomprehensible. I really hope we can find each other on the other new social network that doesn’t have that musk about it.
Gang, this is why centralized social media is bad. You’re watching the bad thing happen live right now. Please consider moving to a social media platform that supports ActivityPub.
Excellent post from @timbray on Mastodonia's dislike of algorithms
"So let’s stop saying “No algorithms!” because that’s just wrong, and figure out how to get nice algorithms built, ones that primarily are there to serve humanity’s best interests."

Today I wrote a Wordle solver in Svelte, hosted a visit with my dad, and cast some dice in resin, after laser-cutting new pieces for my pressure pot. What next?
@DaveShah The distillation into more long-lived notes is one common trend between mechanisms. I have whole organizations in my note structure for this. Did I persist at it? Sadly, no. IMO, I need to take notes directly into a good-enough state, because I know I’ll never go back to distill.
I only follow 88 people on Twitter. I need all of them to move to Mastodon and post their addresses here before they go. I don’t want the same exact experience there, but I also have curated this list very deliberately.
@coates A great way to get people to follow you on Mastodon is to provide your profile URL, ala:

When they they click “follow” at the top, it explains how to do it, whether from an existing account/server elsewhere to creating a new local account.
