I ordered one smartwatch from @AmazfitIN on 8th July, 2025. I was trying to cancel my order, but the option they've put in their website always failed. I tried contacting their customer support, but they did not fulfill my request. Very pathetic response and customer service from @AmazfitGlobal here in India.

25 Days Battle of Bibi Amtus Salam.

Bibi Amtus Salam, refusing to leave with her Muslim Zamindar family to Pakistan, traveled with Gandhi in the riot torn Noakhali in Nov 1946.

As ordered by Gandhi she was deployed as the sevak in the Hindu Sirandi village to restore peace.

For Context Gandhi ordered each worker to stay in different villages, work individually & hold herself/himself hostage for the safety & security of the Hindu Minority there. In writing of Satish Chandra Dasgupta, their everyday duty was detailed.

Like others Bibi Amtus was in duty to clean night soil, clean tanks, cleaning the places of Education, cleaning the Temple & mosque in the village where she was settled.

As instructed the Sevak had to regard herself/himself as the lowliest servant of the Village and also attend the sick & be a nurse wherever possible.

She was following her duties when on the last week of the Dec, 1946 the incident happened. Three Sacred Hindu Swords were stolen from that village by some fringe. Outraged by this heinous act Amtus Bibi began Fasting demanding their return. As the days passed in the 2nd week of fasting fever struck her badly.

Her condition was deteriorating rapidly. Seeing trouble the local Police Inspector came to persuade her to break this fast but failed.

Then he arranged meetings of Hindus & Muslims that led to the recovery of 2 out of 3 stolen sacred swords, given back by two young Muslims. But Amtus insisted she would not break this Fast until the final 3rd sword was recovered.

She was heavily suffering from fever & cough. However, Sushila Nayar noted
"She was at peace & cheerful, had completely resigned herself to God, and insisted on the Koran & Gita being read to her daily."

Finally on 20th Jan after travelling to several villages when Gandhi reached Sirandi, Amtus Bibi had been fasting for the last 25 days barely able to drink water, even not in condition to speak properly as losing sense. Gandhi tried to persuade her to end this fast in this condition but Bibi Amtus, Gandhi's adopted Muslim daughter was adamant. Until the last Hindu sacred sword recovered she will not end this.

Gandhi called a meeting of the residents of nearby 4 villages (Shanktola, Sirandi, Rajarampur & Madhyapara). In that meeting, the villagers took the pledge of unity written in Bengali on a piece of paper. Without delay Gandhi took the signed pledge to Amtus Salam & again persuaded her to break her fast she did by accepting a glass of orange juice from him.

She stayed in Noakhali for a year even when Gandhi left for Delhi. After her repeated request Gandhi wrote her on 31st Dec, 1947 “You will be glad to read this letter. I have given you permission to come."

After returning to his ideological father's shelter she didn't take rest. During this dark time of partition she along with Lajjawati Hooja & Rameshwari Nehru evacuated thousands of kidnapped Hindu & Muslim women from India & Pakistan.

Pyarelal wrote about Bibi Amtus "More than once she had risked her life by rushing to dangerous spots".

Her only war weapon was FASTING. On 5th May 1948 she again sat on an indefinite fast at Dera Nawab in Bahawalpur to protest the “negligence” of the state authorities in the work of recovery of abducted women & children.

She wrote a letter to Nehru informing him of her Fast as the delay of the Ministry in settling the Hindu Migrants in Rajpura.

Bibi Amtus spent rest of her life resettling Hindu migrants from Bahawalpur to Rajpura and finally settled there establishing Kasturba Seva Mandir.

This religious Muslim woman daughter of a Pathan Zamindar took her last breath Sept 29 1985 in obscurity.

Earlier once I shared this story.... Don't know exactly why sharing the same today again.

She was a fool like our other founding fathers who dreamt of India that unlike Pakistan will become a righteous state of equality & brotherhood.
They had faith in this soil and its people, Nevermind today they all seem to be proven WRONG.
