Fed lost another $653 million last week, bringing total realized losses to more than $236 billion since Sep '22, just another sign of monetary mismanagement by Powell & Co. - think this came up during Trump's visit today?
Played Royal Portrush today. Some thoughts:
-What golf course was Scottie playing?
-Don’t wear cropped pants, the rough is thorny.
-Everyone knows Calamity Corner, but No. 13 “Feather Bed” is my favorite hole name.
-The 18th grandstand at @TheOpen is the best in golf.
⚠️HOLY COW, Japanese bond demand just collapsed.
Japan’s 40-year bond auction saw its weakest demand since 2011.
The bid-to-cover ratio fell to 2.127.
The 10-year yield jumped back to 1.6%, the highest in 17 YEARS.
Concerns are SKYROCKETING over rising government spending.
Mother Nature put on a breathtaking show this morning at Sedge Valley and Sand Valley, preceding the rain. ☔️ I think she's just showing off...nevertheless, so fortunate to be there to capture it
🚨UNPRECEDENTED:
Nvidia and Microsoft make up ~15% of the S&P 500's market cap, the most EVER.
By comparison, the COMBINED weight of consumer staples, energy, healthcare, and utilities in the S&P 500 is just 19.7%.
At the Dot-Com Bubble peak, these sectors accounted for 21.6%.
Clearly an epic one about to begin, likely the last one to inflate before the 1929 style bust ahead of us. Remember to take profits along the way because whenever things start unraveling whoever is still swimming in risk assets won’t be able to get out in time in the era of HFTs
Wow, big one here for the YouTube golfer haters.
The Foreplay boys got to play Cypress Point…and film it!!!
American golf’s cathedral invaded by America’s preeminent frat boy podcast.
YouTube Golf has officially crossed into sacred golf territory. It cannot be stopped.
Nanea
2003 - David McLay Kidd
#59 Top 100 USA
Nanea. One of the greatest golf experiences on earth. Period. Can’t stop thinking about it.
The vision of Charles Schwab and George Roberts, they enlisted DMK to design a links inspired course and then build it out of solid lava rock on a Hawaii mountainside. It’s a modern marvel of both nature and man.
The conditions are as good as exist on the planet. The Paspalum is firm and bouncy, mint level 10. Some compare it to Augusta in its conditions and membership, it’s a fair comparison.
The fairways are generous, which is a must with the high winds and unforgiving lava rock. The bunkering is gorgeous and the greens are perfection. Lots of slope and they are tough to read due to the mountain and ocean effect.
There is lots of strategy in play due to the slopes and risk reward opportunities. You can hit driver on most holes and the greens are large, but the slopes will definitely make you 3 putt. There is a 2-3 stroke difference easy when it’s calm versus windy.
The routing is incredible. It wraps around craters to create visual wildfire, the ocean is always in view as well as mountains and even the island of Maui. It’s overload for the senses in the best way. Even more amazing, it’s walkable for the very fit. When you see how steep the land is, you will see how amazing that feat is.
The clubhouse is perfect. It’s island themed and even has outdoor showers. The exterior architecture fits the course perfectly. The staff is welcoming, kind and sincere.
Can’t say enough about Nanea. Thanks to an amazing host and friend who made a dream come true.
Pretty stunning. $NVDA's #marketcap now exceeds the value of $META and $GOOG combined. It is also worth more than the combined market cap of $AMZN, $WMT and $COST, the world’s three largest retailers.
Inflation in line… Core cool 🥶
CPI MoM: 0.3% vs 0.3% exp.
CPI Core MoM: 0.2% vs 0.3% exp.
CPI YoY: 2.7% vs 2.6% exp.
CPI Core YoY: 2.9% vs 2.9% exp.
Excuse me… I was told by the news that tariffs would cause a massive inflation shock.
DIE HARD was released 37 years ago today. Acclaimed as one of the great action movies and the film that catapulted the career of Bruce Willis, the making of story is bigger than the Nakatomi…
