That’s kind of beside the point. The Starship sitting in the ocean is the Flight 13 vehicle, and it was never intended to be the ship that flies Flight 14.

Yes, prolonged saltwater exposure could complicate recovery, inspection, electronics, valves, connectors, and other components—even though the main structure is stainless steel and is highly corrosion-resistant. But nobody was counting on pulling Flight 13 out of the ocean, cleaning it up, and using it for Flight 14.

Flight 14 will use a completely different Starship.

So pointing out that the Flight 13 vehicle may not be suitable for reflight after sitting in seawater doesn’t really establish anything important about the program. The valuable part of Flight 13 was proving the vehicle could survive reentry and splashdown and collecting the telemetry and engineering data from that flight. Recovering the ship intact would be a nice bonus for inspection, but its ability to fly again was never the requirement.

So… what exactly is the point of saying “the saltwater ruined it and it can’t refly”? It wasn’t supposed to be the Flight 14 ship in the first place.
