The big $DOT projects are finally going live this month with their tokens ( $GLMR $ACA etc).
Fastest growing developer ecosystem. We haven't even witnessed the fruits of their labour yet.
Wouldn't surprise me to see the dev number flip $ETH in the next years.
Note that cross-rollup apps within one zone of sovereignty are still fine. Not also that this also is a limit to the "modular blockchains" vision: you can't just pick and choose a separate data layer and security layer. Your data layer must be your security layer.
My argument for why the future will be *multi-chain*, but it will not be *cross-chain*: there are fundamental limits to the security of bridges that hop across multiple "zones of sovereignty". From https://t.co/3g1GUvuA3A:
I’m watching motorcycle cops in Los Angeles hiding on main streets, pulling over soccer moms going 10 over the speed limit & writing hefty violations, but u can steal up to $950 from the boutique on the same street & no penalty. That’s the lunacy in LA right now in a nutshell.
What people don't get about Ouroboros is that it's a protocol family that already has the hard stuff figured out. 2022 is about optimizing throughput and connecting sidechains. It's not theory. It's just code from pipelining to input endorsers. It's going to be a fun year
