@Chad_wikk@screenrant Just felt like there were too many cooks in the kitchen and production wanted different things, but trying to have them all meant none of them got developed into something that felt authentic, entertaining, or fully explored.
@Chad_wikk@screenrant Yeah I mean including Mando at all was where it went wrong imo—turning Boba into a gangster drama (and embracing him as an anti-hero) was a fantastic idea & could’ve been so good, and the series was at its peak when it went there—but going back to Mando tossed all that
@Chad_wikk@screenrant Interesting… First time I watched it I had fun, but rewatched a couple years later and realized I didn’t like really anything about the story—what was the perspective you felt it added to the universe?
@Chad_wikk@screenrant Hot take incoming:
I’d take Boba over Solo any day. Boba had an identity crisis, but at least had a solid concept and (half) tried to do something interesting w/ its IP, whereas Solo just had a good cast
And we don’t need to talk about Obi Wan lol
@ZaneGTCooper It even denies that Lovecraft was ever a white supremacist. The idea that this shit should be an educational tool is… Dark. To put it kindly.
@ZaneGTCooper Yeah this shit is not acceptable, it says that Martin Luther apologized for being antisemitic in an essay he wrote that’s literally titled “On the Jews and Their Lies.”
Harlow’s quote is him essentially trying to reverse engineer morality. If you start with the assumption that you are a good person, then you will never be accountable for fucking anything—because apparently good people don’t make mistakes or do bad things sometimes….???
Like yeah buddy I’m poor I know exactly what a draft is and I know very well that not everybody had an easy choice—but if we want to understand any of this shit, we have to be able to call a Nazi a Nazi
@MORK2002@Dark__Gameplay@cleverbotshit @skipptogoodbit @Mystic_Lawyer@ceourso It’s saying that every marine in Iraq is an extension of the American government. You’re comparing two different countries in two different periods of time, so idk if I’d say it’s an exact 1:1, but… if we’re saying Republicans control the govt, then… In effect, yes.
@MORK2002@Dark__Gameplay@cleverbotshit @skipptogoodbit @Mystic_Lawyer@ceourso No. That is not what I’m saying. I’m saying that doing a Nazism makes you a Nazi, regardless of why you did it. I am saying that the stakes were death, and some chose what they had to do to survive, but that survival meant becoming a Nazi, regardless of personal belief.
@Dark__Gameplay@cleverbotshit @skipptogoodbit @MORK2002@Mystic_Lawyer@ceourso That’s why I recommended Mother Night, as it shows this very effectively. Hannah Arendt also touches on it in Eichmann in Jerusalem, which also feels relevant here
