Iran. Hezbollah. Hamas. The Houthis.

A reported classified CIA assessment though is now asking a much more uncomfortable question:

What if Israel’s greatest danger eventually comes from within?

According to Drop Site News, a CIA Red Cell assessment from August warned that the pressures accumulating inside Israel could lead to serious civil conflict or, in an extreme scenario, state breakdown.

The list is extraordinary: the economic cost of years of war, anger over ultra-Orthodox military exemptions, settler violence, political paralysis around Netanyahu, and large numbers of armed veterans returning from prolonged combat.

Then there is everything happening outside Israel: growing international isolation, questions over future investment and normalization, and the possibility that Israel’s enemies exploit a moment of internal weakness.

One intelligence source put it starkly: Israel could be “one spark away from real internal conflict.”

Remember: this is a Red Cell assessment, designed specifically to challenge conventional thinking, not a CIA prediction that Israel is about to collapse.

But I think that distinction actually makes the document MORE interesting.

After years of asking whether Israel can survive the enemies surrounding it, American intelligence is reportedly gaming out whether the deeper danger could become the fractures inside it.

Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree says drones plus ballistic and cruise missiles targeted King Khalid International Airport, Aramco's Rabigh refinery and military sites, and told global airlines to stop flying over the kingdom except above Mecca and Medina.

Riyadh's airport has reportedly since reopened, but on the ground, unconfirmed reports say Houthi troops have fully surrounded the city of Taiz and trapped government units nearby, with fighting already reported on the road toward Aden.

🇸🇦🇾🇪 Today's Saudi offensive—an attempt to retake the Yemeni Red Sea coast—ended in total collapse

The operation involved 100 Saudi fighter jets, thousands of fighters, and hundreds of military vehicles.

Initially, Saudi-backed forces, supported by the 100 fighter jets, managed to capture Marib and the Dhubab airport.

However, Iranian drones and missiles proved far more effective than the 100 fighter jets; the offensive was quickly halted, and Saudi forces withdrew completely.

Saudi media—including major outlets like Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya—had begun spreading widespread fake news claiming the capture of the strategic city of Mokha, only for the entire story to be immediately exposed as a massive lie.

In addition to that disaster for Saudi forces, the third-largest city, Taiz—along with thousands of their fighters—fell under a complete siege by the Houthis.

Israel is preparing for another strike on Iran even without US involvement.

Israeli planning is heavily focused on Iran's nuclear program and its remaining stockpile of highly enriched material, including material believed to be hidden beneath Pickaxe Mountain.

Israeli military is also preparing for renewed fighting with Hezbollah and believes another major round of fighting with Hamas in Gaza is eventually inevitable, according to Israel Hayom.

The timing is politically significant. Israel's next election is scheduled for october 27.

⚠️ 🇹🇯 IRKUTSK UPDATE: Precautionary measures are spreading across Central Asia as uncertainty continues over the death of an employee at Russia’s Anti-Plague Research Institute.
Tajikistan has now joined Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in strengthening sanitary controls amid reports surrounding the suspected plague case in Irkutsk.

Kazakhstan has introduced sanitary-quarantine controls at state-border crossings, although its Health Ministry says no travelers with symptoms of particularly dangerous infections have been identified and currently assesses the risk of importation as low.

⚠️ Inside Irkutsk, meanwhile, independent Russian reporting says patients at the regional psychoneurological dispensary have been placed under quarantine restrictions. The measure has not yet been publicly confirmed by regional health authorities.

Russian officials also say testing among contacts of 28-year-old Daria Shipilova identified two cases of COVID-19 and two rhinovirus infections, but no evidence of plague or another infection linked to her professional work.

Moscow continues to deny that an accident involving pathogenic material occurred at the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Research Institute and describes Shipilova’s fatal illness as “pneumonia of unknown etiology.”

There is still no publicly confirmed plague diagnosis for Shipilova and no confirmed secondary plague infection.

Four Central Asian governments are now taking precautionary measures while that central question remains unresolved.
