People like this are what’s wrong with Chicago, their reality is skewed in a way that baffles my mind. While there are parts of Chicago that are overall safe lot of crime still happens in those areas. This sort of attitude also downplays & dismisses the reality for ppl who live in very violent areas.
White liberal women for you.
@jasonc_nc@prfctsweetie Had they built these around the street and left the neighborhood intact, it would have destroyed the view but at least the reason for Rainey being Rainey would still be there.
@jasonc_nc@prfctsweetie When I went a few years later a high rise was built at the end of the street where nothing was before because people wanted to live near the happening place. Now they have torn down 80% of those places and replaced them with these towers basically killing the reason to go there.
@mikerodak@greenlaughe Is the 'facilities debt' tied to a golf course or just their training facilities? If it's tied to a course you would think that would then get covered by the green fees they charge the rest of the time.
@BillyFreelandNY@JHWeissmann He said the legal rent for this apartment is $815/month which the reno cost would make more that that in a bank savings account than collecting that.
@zachcaceres@badlogicgames Charging for PR, but refunding on approval would be a great way to weed these out. And while the owner could cheat the system (deny it but then take the update and merge it as yourself) it would just cause people to not commit anymore which they would deserve for doing that.
@MESd_up@AllynPaul Ditto, whenever I see a seller sent something to me via Fedex I know it's going to be 2-7 days from whenever it should have arrived.
@jaketropolis And "all" at consumer markup but you see her pulling bottles of syrup out of obvious wholesale boxes. Then all the people saying she doesn't get the business because she opens a coffee trailer at 9am but she has a line. But hey you all know better. 🙄

@jaketropolis "Consumer markup" like things are always cheaper through a commercial supplier. Yes, when you can get things in a 5 gallon pail vs tiny 5oz retail containers sure but 1 to 1 consumer is not that far off and sometimes cheaper.
@rginvalpo@nwi_jsp@nwi I thought the argument at the time was "we don't need as many lawyers because paralegals are picking up a lot of the busy work they were doing" so did that not play out as expected?
