The New World screwworm has been confirmed within one mile of the Texas border, and may even be here already.
This is at a time when American cattle herds are already at record lows. Texas State Representative Don McLaughlin is now demanding to know why the federal response has been so slow. This is on you Republicans, for defunding the very programs meant to stop this kind of thing from happening....

Agriculture Sec @BrookeLRollins in November: "We have screwworm under control south of the border. Beef prices will come down by spring 2026"
Beef prices continue to rise, and screwworm is now in the US.
The Trump administration has been telling you they had screwworm under control for months. Now, it's here.
What happened? Trump and DOGE slashed funding for screwworm monitoring programs.
And the entire GOP let them. Thank them for today's new hell they unleashed on you.
If you think beef is expensive now, just wait for screwworms to decimate what cattle is left.
The March 2025 Doge cuts slashed the budget(s) for monitoring this avoidable calamity as well as others like the avian bird flu, Ebola outbreaks etc.
Thanks, @elonmusk@POTUS ๐๐
Screwworm has now reached Texas, breaching the barrier designed to keep it from moving north of Panama.
These larvae can devastate livestock. Human cases are less common but can be severe & disfiguring.
We recently saw a case in Toronto in a traveller returning from Costa Rica.
Rep. Keating to Rubio: "I'm sure you're aware that Ukraine, country that at the time had third-largest nuclear arsenal, peacefully turned over their nuclear weapons in conjunction with Budapest Memorandum.
And in exchange for U.S. commitment to defend Ukraine if it ever came under threat. The U.S. gave its word to Ukraine that it would defend them.
And I find this amazing. In your opening remarks, as you took us all over the world and mentioned 15 different incidents where you have interceded โ 15, the top 15 โ not once did you mention Ukraine when you were prioritizing achievements that are there."
Ha. How about this then:
Jared Kushner: $6 billion in Gulf money. Roughly $90 million a year in fees. A protected island in Albania. All while negotiating a war for the United States.
Me: I sold paintings. About $225,000 a year. The whole of my business while my father was President. Congress investigated it.
If that set your hair on fire, where is all your outrage now?
