Thanks to all who contributed thoughts, suggestions and even prayers in advance of my first & likely only visit to Columbus, Ohio. Your warm response makes me think that I might need to live tweet my journey. Been staying away from X but feel like this trip demands reporting.
Where would you go record shopping if you were soon going to Columbus, Ohio for two days? Would you go to any particularly good used book stores? Is there a great place for coffee or a fantastic meal? What would you tell someone like me who has never been to Columbus?
I think I once thought that if you got paid to make art then you had made money. It didn’t matter how much you lost creating your art. The act of receiving money meant profit. I was a young man.
You live in NYC? Ever travel here? You should give @desertislandbk money because you need it to survive. Stop the madness, your support will make a real difference. Please!!!

@misterminsoo His films are entirely unique. I’m not saying this makes them great, or even necessarily good. They are like nothing else, for better or worse. And don’t forget that he is the producer/subject of George Kuchar’s actual great first feature Unstrap Me. Gutman is extremely curious.

As a professional lyricist I don’t deserve a full co-author credit, but I should be receiving some type of royalty for getting Aerosmith to change the refrain from “Sex on an Escalator” to “Love in an Elevator”….but tell that to BMI and ASCAP.
This industry is brutal…..
I have it on good authority that President Bill Clinton played the sax solo on Whitney Houston’s chart-topping cover of “I Will Always Love You” and that he nailed it in one take.
