Good luck to our club's eight runners who will run in today's Boston Marathon: RIRR Hall of Famer Lisa Meehan, Johann Gomez, Christine Cassel, Marianne Currie, Shivaun Roach-Pacitto, Liz Eddins, Peter Harley, and Fred Meyerson.
Lisa is also a two-time RIRR women's Grand Prix champion (2018 and 2019) who also placed in the top four on three other occasions, and from 2008-2022, she ran in the Boston Marathon 11 times and posted sub-4:10 times in three of them. Congratulations, Lisa!
Longtime RIRR member and former RIRR Vice President Lisa Meehan will be inducted into the RIRR Hall of Fame at the club's dinner party on Saturday, March 4, at Chelo's in East Providence, R.I. She will be the 18th member (and the third female) in the Hall of Fame.
Congratulations to RIRR Hall of Famer and former RIRR president John Santillo for running in his 1,000th career race at last night's Narragansett Summer Nights 5K!
As many of you know, RIRR Hall of Famer Harry Carter passed away last weekend at the age of 85. To remember Harry's life, here's a story that was written about him five years ago in the Valley Breeze. https://t.co/co0dSKA4we via @TheValleyBreeze
Great to see the RIRR's Bill and Tammy Harrigan in the Valley Breeze for PR-ing by 65 minutes at the Zion 100K Ultra! https://t.co/4MLo1sNVrE via @TheValleyBreeze
Three runners from northern R.I. finished Monday's Boston Marathon in under three hours. Former @SpartanPrideRI and @GoStonehill runner Kenny Vinacco posted a 2:50:20 time -- and did so starting the race in the fourth wave. https://t.co/2no3I5yn7j via @TheValleyBreeze
Congratulations to our RIRR members, Christine Cassel, Dan Gentile, Fred Meyerson, Kevin Brennan, Robert "Nels" Johnson, and Lisa Meehan, for their fantastic finishes at Monday's Boston Marathon!
The time-honored tradition of the RIRR's pre-race group picture at the Hyannis Inn continues! Great job by everyone in the full and half marathons and the 10K!
Presenting the RIRR Grand Prix's 2022 schedule! (The fall 5Ks and 10Ks will be announced sometime this summer.) Awesome to see the series going strong in its 30th season!
Bad news because this event is quite popular among the RIRR members and has been a Grand Prix race. But we will be back in 15 months for the grand return!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your continued interest and understanding as we forge ahead with plans for a new Old Fashioned Ten-Miler in February of 2023. PLEASE stay tuned for updates on our new plans as they continue to develop!
Here's a race to keep in mind at the end of next month: Cumberland's @RavenousRunners is helping to host the Franklin Farm 5K in their town on Sept. 25. https://t.co/Mw5w4mh9jE
There is going to be a few live road races around here on the Fourth of July weekend. Here's a story in @TheValleyBreeze about Cumberland's Arnold Mills race on July 5th, and rumor has it that an RIRR favorite, Glocester, will be back on July 3rd. https://t.co/ivvKknGwPZ
