Not only are mutual aid groups forced to provide less aid due to lack of funds but also international organizations with millions in funding have significantly decreased aid for Palestinians in Gaza. This is disastrous and is going to lead to further deaths and severe cases of malnourishment.

500,000 daily meals to Gazans were stopped and 256 areas stopped getting water. All this happened over the last few weeks, and no substitutes have been provided. Palestinians in Gaza are left struggling for survival.

The Sameer Project had to reduce food production by 50% and will stop doing some medical days. If donations don’t pick up, we will also have to reduce our water distributions, which we really don’t want to stop during the hot summer!

Saif Abukeshek was abducted on April 30, tortured by the IOF aboard an israeli military vessel in Greek waters, and then forcibly transferred to Shikma Prison in Askalan, occupied Palestine.

He continues to be held hostage by the colonial regime — targeted for simply standing up for the liberation of his own people.

Saif is a father, husband, and major figure in the diaspora in Catalonia where he lives. He is known for his devotion to peaceful activism, international solidarity, and the rights of all Palestinian people.

In The Sameer Project’s Al-Swarha Camp, Obaida creates - not for recognition, but for survival. Every brushstroke carries grief, confusion, resilience, and questions no child should ever have to ask. Why did he lose his leg? Why did the dreams he once held for his future end with amputation? How does he process watching his father endure the same pain?

Obaida does not always have the words. So he paints them instead. He paints what he cannot say. He draws his pain to heal. And somehow, despite everything taken from him, he still does not know how to surrender.
