4️⃣ Peaceful Transition: Ballots replace violence. The peaceful transfer of power is achieved through procedural justice.
True democracy is using transparent institutions to act as a safety net against the dark side of human nature.
A healthy democracy never needs a "great leader"; instead, it relies on common sense and the functioning of institutions:
1️⃣ Limited Power: There is no absolute power. Public authority must be separated, checked and balanced, and constantly overseen.
2️⃣ Equality Under the Law: The law is the only benchmark. High-ranking officials and ordinary citizens are bound by the exact same rules.
3️⃣ Tolerance of Dissent: Different voices are allowed to exist. Both praise and criticism can be discussed openly in the light of day.
