सलीम को लगा कि कोई साधारण परिचित मिलने आ रहा होगा। लेकिन बाहर का नज़ारा देख वे दंग रह गए। गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी का काफिला बाहर रुका, लेकिन उन्होंने अपने प्रोटोकॉल को पीछे छोड़ दिया। वे अपनी गाड़ियाँ घर के बाहर छोड़कर, सामान्य व्यक्ति की तरह पैदल चलकर डॉ. कलाम से मिलने आए।
शेख सलीम ने साझा किया कि उस दिन उन्होंने देखा कि कैसे देश के सबसे बड़े वैज्ञानिक और सबसे चर्चित मुख्यमंत्री के बीच एक 'गुरु-शिष्य' जैसा गहरा नाता था।
डॉ. कलाम का 'इंडिया विजन 2020' का सपना देश के युवाओं के लिए एक मशाल था। नरेंद्र मोदी, जो तब गुजरात के विकास पर काम कर रहे थे, अक्सर कलाम साहब के पास घंटों बैठकर देश के भविष्य पर चर्चा करते थे। कलाम साहब उन्हें देश को विकसित बनाने का रोडमैप बताते थे। जब मोदी जी प्रधानमंत्री बने, तो उन्होंने सार्वजनिक रूप से स्वीकार किया कि वे कलाम साहब के बताए उन्हीं रास्तों और विजन को हकीकत में बदलने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं।
जुलाई 2015 में जब डॉ. कलाम का निधन हुआ, तो प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय से फोन आया। रामेश्वरम में उनके परिवार ने आग्रह किया कि उन्हें अपनी मिट्टी में ही दफनाया जाए। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने न केवल इसे तुरंत स्वीकार किया, बल्कि उन्होंने व्यक्तिगत रूप से रामेश्वरम जाकर उनके अंतिम संस्कार की व्यवस्थाओं को देखा।
इतना ही नहीं, प्रधानमंत्री ने एक लक्ष्य तय किया—रामेश्वरम में 'डॉ. एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम नेशनल मेमोरियल' का निर्माण। उन्होंने डीआरडीओ को निर्देश दिया कि यह काम रिकॉर्ड समय में पूरा होना चाहिए। प्रधानमंत्री हर महीने इसके निर्माण की प्रगति की रिपोर्ट खुद देखते थे। उन्होंने वादा किया था कि वे खुद इसका उद्घाटन करेंगे, और 27 जुलाई 2017 को उन्होंने अपना वादा पूरा किया।
कलाम साहब का मानना था कि मोदी जी में देश को बदलने की 'जगा हुआ दिमाग' (Ignited Mind) वाली शक्ति है, और मोदी जी ने उन्हें अपना 'गुरु' मानकर उनके सपनों को राष्ट्र का लक्ष्य बना दिया।
हमें गर्व है ऐसे महान व्यक्तित्वों पर जो देश को एक नई दिशा दे गए। इतिहास के पन्नों में ऐसे बहुत से अनसुने किस्से दबे हैं, जो हमें एक राष्ट्र के रूप में प्रेरणा देते हैं। ऐसे ही महान व्यक्तित्वों और हमारे देश के गौरवशाली इतिहास से जुड़ी कहानियों को जानने से एक सामान्य व्यक्ति भी असाधारण बन सकता है।🙏🚩
