On 18th June, one Liangmai Naga House was torched by Kukis, they've brought to the issue to the level of the UNC, and with the arrival of final settlement in a meeting held at Senapati, it was agreed to rebuild the house at an approximate worth of Rs. 20 Lakh. Accordingly, all Kuki Zo within Kangpokpi district will contribute a sum of Rs. 100/- only per households and every village Chief will contribue Rs. 500- per head. The same shall be submitted to the Chairman/Secretary, COTO before 25th July, 2023.

A police commando killed by Kuki Militants.

A BPR Police CDO reportedly succumbed to injury on the way to Hospital. The BPR police CDO got injured at the head in a firing exchange between Security Forces and Kuki militants at Kwakta Turel Mapal and adjoining Phougakchao Ikhai area.

The police personnel is identified as Pukhram Ranbir (39) alias Naoba from Moirang Lamkhai. The dead body of Pukram Ranbir was deposited in RIMS Mortuary.

SECRET MEETING of Assam CM with Kuki Militants. Why?

India Today reports that on July 2, a secret meeting was held in a Guwahati hotel at the initiative of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. It was attended by representatives of SoO groups, Kuki ministers and MLAs of Manipur and A K Mishra, MHA adviser (North East).

Union Ministry of Home Affairs has convened a series of meetings starting from July 7  with the members of United People’s Front (UPF)—an umbrella organisation under Suspension of Operation (SoO)—and the Indigenous Tribal Leader’s Forum (ITLF).

What is the purpose of this secret meeting? Why does Govt need to pamper these Militants? What is the secret deal being worked out? Why is Manipur Govt not involved?

It may be noted that earlier Kuki Militants had alleged they had struck a deal with Mr Biswas and BJP leadership team in return for ensuring BJP win the elections in Manipur.
