Yesterday, I tweeted a video showing members of the Bangladesh police callously tossing the injured body of Shykh Yamin, a student at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). They displayed no respect for human life, and left Yamin to die on the street.
Today, I received another video of the same incident, and I am speechless at the brutality. The police not only tossed Yamin's body from their APC (armored personnel carrier) onto the road, but they also threw him over the road divider in the most inhumane manner. A police force like this deserves to be sanctioned and blacklisted. Its members should never be deployed on any @UNPeacekeeping or receive foreign aid.
I’m deeply concerned by the ongoing violence in Bangladesh.
The ongoing loss of life – including attacks on student protesters – is troubling and unacceptable.
Democratic freedoms and the rule of law are essential and must be respected.
Death of a hero in Bangladesh. How Abu Saeed, a young man in Bangladesh protesting restrictive quota in government jobs in a stagnant economy, faced armed police alone with his mortal body. A hero who is as brave as the lone protester in Tiananmen Square facing rows of tanks. But while the tanks of the Chinese regime did not hurt the lone protester, the police of the Bangladeshi regime did not hesitate a minute to shoot the unarmed and non-threatening young man.

H.E. @GerAmbBD , thank you for your steady effort to #SpeedUpStudentVisa. kindly expansion the interview slot as COVID rate in BD is downwards (less than 5%). Sheer number of students live with anxiety due to missing in presence lecture.

@peterfahren Now we realized that we lost our luck. We really miss you and thank you a lot for your service in Bangladesh.
If you were still in Bangladesh there must have some care for students and intentions for solutions.
Stay blessed sir.
We are a bit unlucky probably!
H.E @GerAmbBD, Rapid mass interview is the only solution to decrease the waiting time. Most of the students are already vaccinated. Please ensure more doc. submission and more interviews to end up the crisis.

H.E. @GerAmbBD, as most of the people of both the parties are vaccinated and COVID cases are decreasing nationwide, we would like to urge that it is very much possible to let #GerEmbUse3counters to take interviews of #50StudentsPerDay to #SpeedUpStudentVisa
