When I asked her to marry me, I was broke. My bank account was in overdraft.
She still said yes.
Our wedding feast was just vada pav and tea. It was all I could afford.
5 days later, I left for Europe to race. I returned 5 months later in a wheelchair, nearly paralyzed.
She looked after me while expecting our first child.
4 years later, she had the courage to send me back for another round the world race.
8 months later, I returned victorious.
Behind every win is a partner who is rarely seen, like the wind in the sails.
Here is to the unsung partner. Happy wedding anniversary!

Transitioning to using bus in Bangalore:
So the week of 18th to 22nd August, I took the bus everyday to work and back, Monday to Fridat. Have mostly figured out routes & timings.
I also did 3 non-commute trips, as in going to other places using bus.
🚌Trip 1 - Sarjapur to Big Brewsy in Yeshwanthpur to meet friends
- Was under the impression that many buses went to majestic, but it's just two routes from here.
Took a crowded 342F, got seat at Agara.
Reached majestic at 6pm and the metro station was just a 5 min walk. (1.45 hour journey)
Waited 4 mins for a train, took a 10 minute metro Yeshwanthpur station.
And Big brewsky is a 5 min walk from the metro station
Total time: 2 hrs 20 mins
Cost: 40rs (metro only, bus free)
Alternatively cab would have been:
Time: 1.45 hours
Cost of cab: Close to 750rs.
🚌 Trip 2 - Sarajpur to 1Shanthiroad studio/Gallery
Direct bus 342A to Shantinagar TTMC, 15 min walk to the gallery.
Cost: Free
Duration: 1.5 hours including walk
Alternatively, cab would have taken 1hr 10 mins
Cost: 430rs
🚌 Trip 3 - Sarjapur to Indiranagar gym
Took a 342 bus to Koramangala Water tank.
Walked 5 min to next bus stop.
Got an MF bus to Doopanhalli. (Domlur bridge)
Total travel time: 1 hr 18 mins, including 8 min walk from bus stop to gym.
Alternatively by auto:
Cost: 290 rs
Duration: 1 hr
Overall sneakily saved close to 2000rs without planning for it by switching to bus for these three outings.
*More geeky bus notes follows in the comments
@Lungi_Da_Power Most NRIs keep long advisory notes only for the Bhartiyas back home. In front of the whites not a single word comes out of their mouth.

As of now, my life's gonna be a luxury as I can drive a Harley in morning and a Tesla in evening at cheaper price, have almonds, apples, chickpeas, lentils, and walnuts at much cheaper price, wear a cheaper high quality imported footware, have a bottle of American bourbon whiskey from several prominent U.S. bourbon brands like Maker's Mark Bourbon, Woodford Reserve, JD jack daniels. Trump did what Modi ji couldn't, Trump is my President😃
Really a master stroke. Can't wait to see all Indian companies getting impacted who are into these sectors.😇 along with stocks now I have options to buy Harley, Tesla and many more things with the same cash.
Bhai IIT aa ja mere course main. Free lectures bhi available hain mere Advance Machine Learning ke CDEEP website par. Dekh le, Stabford se compare kar le, aur fir boliyo.
NRI log ke dimaag main India frozen rehta hai jab chhod ke gaye thay tab se.

Great insight. Only that overconfidence/motivated reasoning may lead one to incorrectly believe that the opponent in the debate has zero value of time.
I have noticed that the right side of an argument does not always win. The relative value of time of each person plays an invaluable role.
Implication: avoid debates/arguments with someone who has a zero value of time.
Extremely important work by my colleage at @IIM_Bangalore, Aditya Shrinivas. Shows PDS prevents enmasse child stunting in India. And a great publication too.
