The #JabalpurPolice have exposed a honey-trap gang operated by a young woman who lured men through Instagram, called them for meetings, and then extorted money.

Acting on complaints from two victims, #LordganjPolice arrested three accused, including the woman.

The mastermind, a resident of #Kareli in #Narsinghpur district, had been living on rent in #Jabalpur for the past three months.

Shockingly, the role of two police constables has also surfaced, who allegedly reached the spot during the traps and assisted the gang.

Considering the seriousness of the case, the SP has attached both constables.

Meanwhile, the three accused, including the young woman, were arrested and produced in court, which has sent all of them to jail.

A 19-year-old from #Belkheda befriended a woman on Instagram who introduced herself as #RaginiSharma.

After days of chatting, she called him to Jabalpur, saying she would soon return to Narsinghpur.

On Saturday, the youth reached #VijayNagar with his cousin; after tea, she took them to a house in #Shatabdipura. She asked them to bring food, drinks, and beer; the cousin went out to get them.

Taking advantage, she called two accomplices who arrived, stormed in, abused and assaulted the youth, and recorded a video.

The two accused, Sahil and Vivek, threatened the youth to arrange Rs 1 lakh or face a viral video and a false rape case. When the complainant’s brother arrived, the woman also pressured both brothers to pay immediately.

Terrified, they informed relatives in Jabalpur, who rushed to the spot.

After the relatives refused to pay, the woman and her aides became aggressive and called two constables from Yadav Colony Police Chowki.

As soon as Vivek called, two constables reached Shatabdipura in just five minutes, much faster than the usual 10–15 minutes.

The girl told them the youths had called her to the room and molested her.

The complainant alleges the constables also threatened them, saying they would be sent to jail based on the girl’s complaint.

Terrified, the youths’ relatives informed SP Sampat Upadhyay, who immediately directed Kotwali CSP Ritesh Kumar Shiv to investigate.

Serious questions are being raised about the speed with which two constables from Yadav Colony police outpost reached the spot following the girl's allegations and the sequence of events.

The complainant informed the officials that as soon as the girl accused of molestation, the police reached the same building within minutes, whereas in normal circumstances, such quick action is only possible if there was prior information or coordination.

When the CSP investigated, it came to light that both constables did not inform senior officials about the incident.

Moreover, despite the complaint being related to a woman, they reached the spot without a female police officer, which is a violation of rules.

According to CSP Ritesh Kumar Shiv, accused Vivek is a resident of Sanjeevani Nagar and drives an auto, while Sahil Barman does a private job.

Police are also investigating how many more people are involved in the gang apart from these three.

So far, how many youths have been blackmailed and had money extorted from them. Also, it is being ascertained where the girl lived in Jabalpur and with whom.

Based on CSP Ritesh Kumar Shiv’s preliminary probe, SP Sampat Upadhyay has line-attached constables Sachin Jain and Siddharth from the Yadav Colony outpost.

The investigation is examining whether they were directly or indirectly involved in the honey-trap operation.

Given the gang’s exposure and the constables’ suspected role, the SP took swift action, and if found guilty, both may face suspension.
