ARCH is excited to Co-lead the Series A and to join the Board of Oratomic, to build a fault-tolerant Quantum computer, one of the grand challenges for humans. The impact of quantum computing on biology, defense, AI and almost everywhere is hard to understate.
ARCH’s love is biotech. But we were founded by a physicist, and focus on science. We pioneered expert systems in healthcare (R2), and internet (Netbot). We invest where can revolutionize the broken system. Co-founding Prometheus and Xaira and Insitro, seeding Flourish and TraceAI are reflections of that in AI. We are working on big ideas in biologic data, quantum computing, and DNA computing. Some that will revolutionize healthcare, some that will just revolutionize the way we make things or compute. Never have we been more excited about the pace of innovation, in spite of all the political drama. USA is well positioned to lead the coming waves, if we continue to reward risk takers.

The Caltech group knows it has years of work ahead before any of its dreams have a chance of coming true. Our paper “Exponential Quantum Advantage in Processing Massive Classical Data” proves that quantum machines can solve common machine learning tasks using exponentially less memory than a classical machine would require.
Much further work will be needed to translate this theory into practice. But because modern AI is often hampered by insufficient memory, this finding bolsters our confidence that quantum AI can eventually have a broad impact on daily life.
