Watching Elon Musk this week has been a fascinating character study in the saviour complex of Western tech billionaires.
They arrive in your country selling you the future. Welcome them, and you’re a country that wants progress. Make them wait, and suddenly your people are victims who need rescuing from their own institutions by the chosen one.
It’s a pattern. When Thai rescuers didn’t use the mini-submarine Musk sent for the trapped boys, and diver Vernon Unsworth called the idea impractical, Musk attacked him as the “pedo guy.”
When Brazil’s Supreme Court ordered X to comply with its rulings, Musk called the judge a “dictator.”
The script rarely changes. Only the country does.
The colonial mindset isn’t always about wanting to rule a country. Sometimes it’s the assumption that you arrive as its saviour, and if the country doesn’t immediately recognise you as one, something must be wrong with the country.
BJP’s real strength was never its IT Cell. It was the organic voter who defended the party everywhere because he genuinely believed in it.
But that support is slipping.
General Category voters in particular are increasingly asking …
• Why are taxpayers funding endless free cash transfers and vote-bank politics?
• Why are reservation policies, UGC decisions and stronger SC/ST laws making many feel that merit and equal treatment are being sidelined?
• Why push ethanol policies without adequately considering food security, inflation and India’s water crisis?
• Why subsidise distilleries when farmers and ordinary citizens are struggling with water scarcity?
• And why the growing arrogance and contempt towards genuine criticism?
These are not IT Cell problems. They are policy and trust problems.
The danger for BJP is simple …
When your organic supporters stop defending you, no IT Cell can manufacture that credibility.
You don’t lose your core voter overnight.
You lose him one policy, one insult and one arrogant decision at a time.

BJP is struggling in the narrative war against the CJP, despite it being a minuscule challenge compared to what the party has faced in the past.
The most significant challenge was the farmers' protest. It was led by a tightly-knit, influential community with substantial financial resources, a strong influence on popular culture, and international backing; nevertheless, the BJP was winning the narrative, (until it suddenly gave up). It was a similar story with the anti-CAA protests. The party was pitted against widespread mobilization with low threshold for violence as well as intense domestic and global media scrutiny, yet it still came out on top in shaping public opinion.
So, what changed? Why are they losing ground against a far less threatening movement? The missing link is the loss of an organic groundswell of independent support.
The primary backbone of the BJP's narrative strategy was the everyday citizen, individuals who were ideologically aligned, unaffiliated with any party apparatus, and driven by personal conviction. These ordinary supporters possessed a level of authentic credibility and societal influence that no organized digital cell or party spokesperson could ever replicate. They actively countered opposing views in daily social circles, local communities, and online spaces, acting as an unscripted, highly effective buffer for the party's image.
However, years of unaddressed policy grievances, perceived arrogance, and repeated political oversights have gradually alienated many of this non-party baseline. As these independent voice-carriers drop away or choose silence, the party is left relying almost entirely on formal communications and coordinated IT cell campaigns, which were always insufficient for winning over public sentiment on their own.

I'm pleased and Impreseed with the faith and devotion of Japanese for Jain Dharma ✨
34 Japanese Citizens Observing the Paryushan Festival 🙌
Currently, 34 Japanese citizens are immersed in observing the Jain festival of Paryushan in Bhayandar. The group comprises 9 men and 25 women, including doctors, nurses, banking professionals, engineers, and students.
These individuals, who traveled from Japan to India to practice Jainism, state that the Navkar Mahamantra has transformed the direction of their lives. During the Paryushan festival, they are not only strictly adhering to all the prescribed rituals but have also completely detached themselves from mobile phones and other digital devices.
The journey of these Japanese citizens into Jainism began approximately 25 years ago. Churushi Miyazawa, a Japanese psychiatrist who speaks fluent Hindi, recounts that during a visit to India in 2004—when she was just ten years old—she was deeply moved by the Jain temples in Jaisalmer and the teachings of Jainism.
Miyazawa, a Buddhist by birth, describes her connection to Jainism and Acharya Jayantsen Surishwarji as feeling like an ancient spiritual bond. She claims to have seen the Acharya in her dreams even before meeting him in person; she was astonished by this coincidence when she finally encountered him physically. That marked the beginning of a spiritual journey that continues to this day.
Miyazawa explains that after understanding the meaning of the Navkar Mahamantra from her Guru, she resolved to propagate it in Japan. She has also translated 'Navkar Mahima' into the Japanese language.
What I’m saying to the Maharashtra Government: Why are you even eyeing those tiny little grounds?
Here are far better ideas for instant cash and Mumbai’s “development”:
1. Sell the Gateway of India.
2. Lease out Sanjay Gandhi National Park — we don’t need forest cover anymore.
3. The privatisation of Aarey Dairy and Mahanand Dairy land is still pending. Finish it.
4. If that’s not enough, reclaim the Arabian Sea right up to the Sea Link.
5. And last but not least, the city is still full of mangroves. Consider this option too — they’re vanishing anyway.
Only after all this is done, declare Mumbai a Union Territory. Mumbaikar, we don’t need any cockroach Janta Party. Suffering is our destiny.
Want one more masterstroke? Hand the entire city and its management over to either of the two corporate giants. At least we’ll have less corruption and less stupidity.
And if the Mumbai model works, Pune is next. I have places there the government can explore as well.
Please @Dev_Fadnavis sir we don’t need any convention center anymore. We have it as Worli & BKC and there are enough 5 star hotels too if anyone wants to hold any convention and conferences…let this mistake of temporary ground be it Mhada —@SJaiswal_IAS & @AshwiniBhide you both are empathetic people…already you both know what is happening to our city…you along with CM sir change this decision…let the generation play rather than making them video game addicts !
Have mercy !
A very Angry Mumbaikar !

If your demand stops at the edge of convenience or loyalty, then it was never about accountability to begin with.
Exposing those who demand transparency from others while shielding their own, on @News18India with @AmanChopra_:
When something goes horribly wrong under their dept, the minister in charge should step down, plain and simple.
It doesn't matter if they didn't personally cause the disaster or even know every detail of what was happening behind the scenes. Being in charge means taking credit when things go well, but it also means taking the fall when things fall apart. That is what true leadership is about.
Since politics is all about strategic morality than real morality, I'll talk about strategy only. Stepping down isn't a sign of weakness; it’s actually a smart, strong political move. When a minister stays put after a major disaster, the story becomes all about them trying to save their own job, and the controversy just drags on endlessly. A quick resignation clears the air. It acts like a fresh start, allowing the govt to bring in new leadership, fix the problem, and show the public that they actually care about high standards. It builds way more respect with voters than digging in your heels ever will.
When someone stays in office purely so the administration doesn't "look weak," or so the opposition doesn't see a resignation as a win, it tells the public that party pride matters more than accountability. Voters can easily tell the difference between standing firm on principle and being too stubborn to own up to a failure.
The reason Gen Z spends comfortably on small luxuries like high-end coffee is that long-term milestones like buying a home feel entirely out of reach in this economy. So they prioritise immediate quality of life over distant financial milestones.

HD Deve Gowda is 92 years old and has spent 65 years in Indian politics. He became Prime Minister in 1996 only because Congress needed a safe face to keep BJP out of power. He ran the country for eleven months. Then Congress walked into Parliament, moved a no-confidence motion and pulled his government down on the same floor he now writes a letter to defend.
He has spent most of his career on the Opposition benches. He openly says he has never once attacked Rahul Gandhi or Sonia Gandhi, in power or out of it. He has never entered the well of any house to protest under any provocation in six and a half decades.
That man sat down on March 16 and wrote a personal letter to Sonia Gandhi asking her to use her experience and maturity to speak to her colleagues, starting with her son, about what they are doing to Parliament.

This day in 1993, 12 bombs supplied by Dawood Ibrahim exploded in Mumbai killing 257 and injuring 1408. Dawood escaped but his accomplice Yakub Memon was caught and sentenced to death for aiding & abetting the terror attack.
These were the scenes from his funeral held in Mumbai.
