The #SweetBobby documentary on Netflix is very hard for me to fathom. What level of willful ignorance must you exist in to allow yourself to be in such a situation for years? At some point we must acknowledge the role we play in our own suffering smh 🤦🏽♀️
Self aware people move different. They’re more collected & thoughtful. They read the room & recognize the role they play in any dynamic. They’re present with how they’re showing up and the effect they have on others. It’s a much different way of operating than those who are not.
there is so much beauty in trying. trying with the risk of not achieving a desired outcome is so courageous: some people don’t even try at all. no matter what the situation or task is, you should be proud of yourself for trying your best, it is the bravest thing you can do.
Being with someone who is fluent in your love language so you don't have to spend a lifetime translating your heart is a whole different kind of intimacy.
You gotta PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN in your life. Block numbers, stay away from fake love, grind, get your spirit & mind right stay focused! You gotta demand positivity, claim it, speak it, see it everyday. I'm growing & trying to become a better version of myself. I won't dare let up!!
When you feel guilty for putting boundaries in place with people who hurt you, imagine the little kid in you who was made to feel responsible for tolerating other peoples bad behavior. Every time you use your voice now, you are being the protector they deserved then.
Eventually, you will understand why some family members keep to themselves. Why they’re rarely involved. Why they leave early from events. You will no longer see them as outliers but people who chose to prioritize their peace.
ya’ll way too comfortable with disrespecting /mistreating people and just expecting them to"get over it"without holding yourself accountable.y'all mess up genuine people simply because your pride is too big to give a decent apology followed by corrective action and ways to fix it
