When we first met Yaseen Sahab’s family, they were living through every parent’s worst nightmare. His 18-year-old son, Tabish, had been brutally attacked simply because he was a Kashmiri Muslim while helping his father sell winter clothes in Paonta Sahib. A young life was left hanging by a thread, and an entire family was left shattered.

At Miles2Smile Foundation, we knew that saving a life meant more than paying hospital bills.

We stood with Tabish through his recovery. We made sure his education did not stop. We stood beside his parents when the world had moved on. And we made a promise—that this family’s story would not end with violence.

Months later, we travelled to their home in Kupwara to fulfill that promise.

Together, we opened their Smile Shop—a new beginning built on dignity, self-reliance, and hope. It wasn’t just the inauguration of a shop. It was the restoration of a family’s confidence, their livelihood, and their belief that humanity still exists.

We don’t leave when the news cycle ends. We stay. We rebuild. We restore. From emergency relief and education to sustainable livelihoods, we walk with families until they can stand on their own again.

We inaugurated the Smile Shop for Imran, the brother of #Aamir from Palla, Nuh, who was brutally shot dead by cow vigilantes in March 2026. What began as a heartbreaking tragedy has slowly transformed into a journey of resilience, made possible through the unwavering support of the Miles2Smile family.

During Ramadan, Miles2Smile Foundation raised and transferred ₹4 lakh each to Aamir’s mother and wife, ensuring they had immediate financial support to rebuild their lives with dignity.

Last month, through our #Shaagird initiative, we enrolled five of Aamir’s younger siblings in a nearby school, giving them the opportunity to continue their education despite the immense loss their family endured.

And now, by opening the Smile Shop for Imran, we have helped create a sustainable source of livelihood for the family—because true rehabilitation is not just about relief; it is about restoring dignity, independence, and hope for the future.
