@bayagima In order for this to work, the MOE would need to drastically change their ridiculous licensing rules. They make it almost impossible to build a center that isn’t standalone, believe me I’ve tried.
@BrettErickson28 What gives you this feeling? The Iranians seems pretty happy to try and hold onto what’s left of the regime, and the US have low oil prices and the realization that they probably can’t have the decisive victory they wanted. Everyone moves on.
@kellyenz So far no documented response from Iran to the US attacks on Irans bases as retaliation. So safe to say their grip is loosening, and I’m not sure it was ever that tight to be honest.
@MacroAlphaHQ@bols_daniel You realize not every barrel of oil comes through the straight of Hormuz right? 78 mb is about 8 days of Hormuz supply when accounting for pipelines.
@CarolinaLion2 If they play up while their tankers are at sea becomes very easy for them to be seized. Having them at sea is better for the US than stuck in Hormuz.
@whirlybard Look at tracking data, it’s not closed. Traffic stopped for about 4 hours yesterday and then came back strong. still not pre war levels but there is plenty of oil going out and more importantly tankers heading back in.
@VladimirJenin A principal I spoke to was upset about it because they could no longer do cooking classes instead of maths, and that kids now had to learn about the Stone Age, romans and Greeks - no longer treaty centric. Made me think maybe teachers don’t know what’s best.
@bayagima Where was that interview? Is he seeing increased activity. I’m seeing a number of new large Commerical development projects being given the green light. 6-12 month lag for the construction industry. Architects and planners also busy.
@BoBhorowhenua@kellyenz People forget he predicted the following in 2023;
7.7% annual inflation - was 4.7%
$150 pb oil price - it went to $75
No rate cuts until 2025 - 1.25% of cuts in 2024.
This guy has no idea.
@kellyenz The use of monetary policy is supposed to dampen or stimulate demand. It has absolutely no affect on the price of rates, in fact it likely raises them as council cost of borrowing increases. Same with electricity. No matter what the ocr is you have to pay your rates.
