@PHLY_Sports@espn He’s gone, move on. Got a 1st for a guy no one else wanted, maybe has 2 good years left, and who prioritized personal stats over winning. I’ll take it.
@thomasrp93@Dr_Focki Yeah it’s a popular coping mechanism the last few days. Teams don’t trade future 1sts for current 2nds. Maybe that happens with later round picks, but not 1sts.
@damon3b@NFL_DovKleiman Maybe, maybe not. There is obviously something off in this guy’s head. Philly got most of his best yrs, NE might get o1 or 2 more. WRs historically fall off a cliff at age 30 and with his knees he likely won’t buck that trend. He’s 29 this year so getting a 1st was insane value
@WallacesOwner@BenVolin It’s a rationalization and not true. You know how we know that? Because teams almost never trade their 1st next year for a 2nd this year. You may occasionally see that with picks AFTER the 1st round, but you pretty much never see that with 1st rounders . 1sts are gold to teams.
@thomasrp93 My Eagles lost a great player but he gave them no choice. He quit on them late last yr, caused problems, and started to show signs of on-field decline. Pats get the last year or two of his prime, Eagles get a 1st for guy who had no market outside of NE. Win/win to me.
@RossTuckerPod@RossTuckerNFL Pats got a legit WR1 who seemed to lose some separation ability last year, but still a monster. Philly got a #1 that will likely be used once Brown is past his prime. Both teams got what they wanted I think.
@JacksonDji34856@Savageboston@nflnetwork Pats hold zero cards here while the Eagles have options. Pats give in or go into a year with huge expectations having Romeo Doubs as their WR1.
