The hysteria over the unsurprising resent decisions of the Roberts Court shines a light on the real problem facing America today. Of the three branches of government, we currently have an activist Judiciary, a powerful Executive, but a flat tire when it comes to the Legislative branch.
Birthright citizenship, for example, was not expected to be overturned by the Supreme Court. Congress could easily establish common sense legislation that would define more clearly the original purpose and boundaries intended by the 14th Amendment. That would, however, require John Thune to act like an American statesman rather than a RINO hack, so there is, as usual, no hope.
As long as the pansy-ass Republicans mince around the halls of Congress, we are doomed.
@BridgetPhetasy@politicalelle Well—they’ll send you home first because they’ll say there is nothing they can do - and say c’est la vie because when it’s your time, it’s your time. I’m not sure who the government medical services are for in Europe any more.
I say the same thing-this is a culture that spent centuries under feudalism—our European ancestors left because they wanted out—no more sharecropping and tenant farming — doing all the work and literally eating scraps if the harvest didn’t yield enough for the nobility—now they’re doing it to them again
You can just make something up about the UK and then Americans will not only believe it, but share it around at record pace.
Did you know it's illegal to have showers during hot days because of water shortages in the heat? I tried it once and had police knocking on my door.
And it appears the other best mostly immigrated out of Europe—look at how successful southern Italians are in the US vs the state of the current Italian south. And now they’re importing hostile cultures after centuries of racism against the South and the “terroni”, ie the dirt people as they referred to the poor sharecroppers/contadini.
@MichaelRCaputo@JoeyMannarino I’m going to try to go back to Mass and when i do i will keep this little thread in mind—always loved my parish…they’re not the problem…
@MichaelRCaputo@JoeyMannarino It’s a real problem and it’s alienating a lot of US Catholics—especially in light of what appeared to be complete surrender to the government during the pandemic—very disconcerting to me and has left me feeling off balance since then…very sad
@sappholives83 Men get smelly when they age—all of them do— we should point that out to them—as you men age you lose sexual prowess AND you smell — so they can go pound sand
