If we learned anything from Trump's presidency, it's that he uses his power to enrich himself and his buddies.
That's why on Day One of his term, it's important that we'll have a government ethics chief in place who serves the American people, not Trump's wallet.
Vivek has already been named by the Trump administration, so he speaks for them officially, and what he's announcing here is eliminating medical care for veterans.
That's the single largest component of expired authorization expenses, $119 billion.

🚨🚨 While on @thereidout, VoteVets' MG (Ret.) Paul Eaton sounded the alarm on Trump's 'Purity Board':
"If you go through this purity test that Mr. Trump wants to do and Mr. Hegseth is more than willing to follow, you may have a hard time finding a General Milley or a General Kelly, and that's going to be a real problem for this country and for our allies."
BREAKING: Attorney for teenager at the center of Matt Gaetz sex trafficking allegations says "she was a high school student and there were witnesses." Calls on Ethics Committee to release its report.
🔥🔥 Veteran Sen. Tammy Duckworth DROPS THE MIC on Pete Hegseth saying women shouldn't serve in combat roles:
"I would ask him: Where do you think I lost my legs? In a bar fight?
I'm pretty sure I was in combat when that happened. And you know, it just shows how out of touch he is with the nature of modern warfare."
Just a quick note to international reporters: Trump does not actually appoint his cabinet as a prime minister would. Most of these people need Senate approval. So it’s wrong to describe them as though their appointment has already taken place. Now, Trump is trying to circumvent that process, and it’s unclear that Senators will do their job and block the obvious traitors and misfits. But that’s another issue.

As a former CIA case officer, I saw the men and women of the U.S. intelligence community put their lives on the line every day for this country — and I am appalled at the nomination of Tulsi Gabbard to lead DNI. (1/3)
"Gabbard is stunningly unqualified for almost any Cabinet post (as are some of Trump’s other picks), but especially for ODNI. She has no qualifications as an intelligence professional—literally none."

APM story from 2018: Pete Hegseth had two separate affairs with co-workers during two marriages, did some nepotism while running a veteran's organization, spent a bunch of campaign funds on Christmas parties for family and friends https://t.co/XRMO9Dl7zQ
@FlorinMicle@sharondigi@politico Yes, actually. These are no where near the qualifications needed for this job and you should want better for us than that nonsense.
@devilfear2u@sharondigi@politico He was a major in the NG. By all metrics this is an incredibly average, unremarkable military career. Please this is so embarrassing for y’all.
Lmao, yes. Let’s talk qualifications. Lloyd Austin was a FOUR-STAR ARMY *GENERAL* and y’all are coming at me w a guy who has a relatively middle of the road rank in the National Guard?
