Listening, Engaging, Acting: A Positive Day for Flood Mitigation Efforts.

A sincere thank you to the Hon'ble MLA, GCC officials, and all stakeholders who participated in today's flood mitigation review meeting at Zone 15 of GCC

We deeply appreciate the patience, openness, and positive spirit with which every concern raised by residents was heard and discussed.

The willingness shown to engage directly with the community, understand ground realities, and consider practical solutions gives residents confidence that meaningful progress can be achieved.

The discussions covered critical issues relating to flood resilience, road connectivity, emergency access, power infrastructure reliability, tree pruning, and public safety. We are particularly encouraged by the constructive approach adopted by all concerned and the commitment shown towards addressing these long-pending challenges.

Community-government collaboration is the foundation of effective urban governance, and today's meeting was an excellent example of that partnership in action.

Thank you once again for your time, leadership, and commitment to building a safer and more resilient Chennai.

We look forward to continued engagement and timely implementation of the proposed measures.

Every day, children walk to school, senior citizens take their morning stroll, and families commute through Model School Road, Extension Roads and Classic Farms hoping to reach home safely.

Unfortunately, they now share the road with freely roaming cattle that can appear out of nowhere, causing accidents waiting to happen.

Are our roads meant for pedestrians and vehicles, or have they been officially converted into grazing fields without informing residents?

Dear @chennaicorp, before someone gets seriously injured, kindly restore the roads to their intended purpose.

At this rate, we may soon need traffic signals for cows and helmets for pedestrians.

Dear @CMOTamilnadu,

We humbly seek your kind intervention regarding the long-pending road relaying work connecting Casagrand Royale, Model School Road Extension, Sholinganallur.

GCC, in its response to Complaint No. 2025-981DQY dated 15 May 2025, confirmed that this road was included in the FY 2025-26 Priority-II list.

However, the work is yet to commence and the road continues to remain in a severely damaged condition, with frequent water stagnation causing hardship to residents.

This is the primary access road for 500+ families, including school-going children and senior citizens.

Our earlier requests may have been overlooked.

We respectfully request your kind intervention to expedite the work and provide an update on its status.
