@ClankoMedia Organizations in smaller non national leagues still haven't converted their mindset from "we offer live theater" to "we produce TV shows".
@KGN_Insider Shouldn't this be a simple matter of whether his parents officially changed their residency from tax-free Texas to Ontario, which would require a tax expatriation from the IRS's perspective?
If his parents are still legal residents of Texas, then shouldn't he be WHL property?
@joecct77@ClankoMedia Against one year up. 13O, 15O are specifically that, you can't have older OR younger players, or your team is disqualified from Nationals.
But you can play up two years.
@ThomasDrance gets 2OA, picker of team that lost to SC winner gets 3OA, and picker of SC finals loser-loser gets 4th. The rest goes chalk.
You instantly double the number of fan bases invested in the playoffs. Franchise values are driven by broadcast eyeballs. Playoffs too random to tank for
@ThomasDrance Gold Plan has its own issues.
The best plan, which reduces incentive to lose, and increases overall league fandom: before the start of the playoffs, 32nd gets to first pick of playoff teams, 31st gets second pick, etc. Team that picks SC winner gets 1OA, owner of SC Final loser
@JeanFrancoisCBA I come to a different conclusion: inefficient contracts on day 1 of the playoffs become irrelevant.
TOR, as an example. Let's say Macelli, OEL, and Nic Roy get hurt before the deadline, but would be ready for start of playoffs. TOR could essentially have a $10M taxi squad?
