During Cabinet's visit to Kabalega International Airport, I spoke to the media about the strategic importance of the Airport and its role in Uganda's transformation agenda.
This airport is a critical enabler of the oil and gas sector, while also creating opportunities for tourism, trade, investment, and regional connectivity.
The @GovUganda continues to prioritize modern and sustainable transport infrastructure as a pivot to economic growth and national development.

Thrilled to be joining this conversation this evening on the topic “Courts, Counsel and Cybersecurity”. Let’s learn how a modern lawyer can navigate the evolving digital landscape in the face of growing cyberthreats.
Uganda’s mobile device landscape continues to evolve. As of March 2026, Uganda recorded 20.3 million smartphones, 24.7 million feature phones, and 13.3 million basic phones.
This surge in mobile devices reflects a brighter future where access to digital services is within everyone's reach. A connected Uganda means empowering every individual to participate in the digital economy. Regardless of the type of phone, connectivity serves as a powerful tool for communication, access to vital services, and unlocking new opportunities.
Through initiatives by @UCC_Official via its Universal Service and Access Fund (#UCUSAF), government is working to close the digital gap with the aim of expanding access to ICT infrastructure and services in underserved communities. Our goal is to ensure that every Ugandan is included in the country's digital transformation journey.🇺🇬

I would like to sincerely thank H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni @KagutaMuseveni for the trust and confidence he has placed in me through my appointment as Minister for Works and Transport.
I am truly humbled by this elevation from the role of State Minister for Transport, and I pledge to serve with dedication, integrity, and commitment as we continue to improve Uganda’s infrastructure and transport sector for the benefit of all Ugandans.
I remain grateful to the President for his continued guidance and leadership, and I look forward to contributing even more to the country’s transformation agenda.
For God and My Country.
⚠️ Long message. There were ululations & sigh of relief after the sentencing of Christopher Okello Onyum by the presiding Judge, for the murder of 4 little children in court. Ugandans that called for a “mob action” against him because they didn’t have much hope in the judiciary were happy. Social & mainstream media were positive about the judgement & satisfied. However, I waited for someone to appreciate & give credit where it was due for the court process to be as smooth & short the way it was, but alas, no public applause came through. Allow me using my vast law enforcement knowledge & experience to thank & congratulate the following for their hard work, zeal, professionalism & commitment & burning the “midnight candle” not only to bring the accused to justice but also to ensure that justice was not only done but seen to be done.
1. The @CID1_UG under the leadership of @Tom_Magambo did a commendable job to stitch together all the evidence in a short time. The level commitment & professionalism was so high.
2. The @ODPPUGANDA stood tall not only in court but also in working hand in hand with @CID1_UG & adduce credible evidence.
3. The @PoliceUg Forensic Services under leadership of @mubirua1 was astute as always. All the forensic evidence presented was done in a scientific & professional manner.
4. The @PoliceUg ICT directorate under the leadership of AIGP #FelixBaryamwisaki showed that the CCTV network & terrain was reliable & useful.
5. The @PoliceUg Directorate of Medical Services did a good job. The deputy director SCP Dr. #EmmanuelNuwamanya did a great professional job as a psychiatrist.
6. Lastly, the trial Judge did a commendable job. Haven’t heard of legal minds criticizing her job in the trial.
7. To whoever, guided that Uganda witnesses an open/public trial at the locus, thank you so much for the gift of good judgement & guidance.
8. To those that I have not mentioned but did a commendable job, Asante sana.
Exciting time for Uganda’s internet infrastructure 🎉🎉🎉
Today, @NITAUganda1 under the Uganda Digital Acceleration Project- GovNet (UDAP-GovNet) in partnership with the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, have officially launched the National IP Peering Exchange (NIPX) at Speke Resort Munyonyo, great news for Uganda’s Digital journey.
As the country’s first neutral and open Internet Exchange Point, NIPX changes the game by allowing local networks to exchange internet traffic right here in Uganda, instead of routing it through expensive international pathways.
This means we’re finally keeping more of our digital traffic at home.
The benefits are clear and impactful translated through faster internet speeds, lower costs, and a more stable and resilient network.
For everyday Ugandans, this translates to smoother video calls, quicker access to e-services, better online learning experiences, and eventually more affordable data.
This achievement is a key milestone under the Digital Uganda Strategy and Vision 2040, a proud moment for Uganda as we continue building a faster, more affordable, and more sovereign digital nation.
The NIPX is now live and open for all eligible networks to connect and start peering.

YOUR OLD PHONE ISN'T JUST CLUTTER.
It’s a ticking time bomb for our environment. Every year, Uganda generates a staggering 32,000 tonnes of e-waste, yet less than 1% is safely documented for recycling.
When you toss a battery into a random bin, you release toxins like lead and mercury that can poison our soil with concentrations hitting 14,000 mg/kg, eventually leaking into the water your family drinks.
A cleaner #DigitalUganda starts with your next move. Don’t let your old chargers pollute our future. Take your old ICT devices to @UCC_Official collection points in Kampala, Mbarara, Gulu, Masindi, or Mbale. Look for our specialised bins and turn toxic waste into a "green" digital economy.
Your small action protects our soil, our water, and our health. Let’s build a sustainable #ConnectedUg2030 together!
