I pushed very hard for that to be the case even before Mamdani was elected.

President Trump and Secretary of War Hegseth took part in the dignified transfer of the four U.S. soldiers recently killed in the Middle East.

The fallen troops were Sgt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii; Pfc. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Texas; Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of New York; and Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton, 30, of North Carolina.

Three were killed during an Iranian attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, while Swinton was killed the following day during a controlled detonation of a downed Iranian attack drone at Erbil Air Base in Iraq.

Before the transfer, Trump also met privately with the families of the fallen service members.
