🚨Right, quick correction on the Henry Nowak case because the misinformation flying around is getting ridiculous.
People are claiming Henry sat conscious against a wall for 61 minutes with no police or ambulance showing up. That’s not true.
Here’s what actually happened, straight from the court evidence, bodycam, CCTV and 999 records:
Around 11:30pm on 3 December last year, Henry got stabbed five times by Vickrum Digwa, including a fatal chest wound.
He ran off and told neighbours he’d been stabbed. Digwa’s brother called 999 saying Digwa had been racially attacked — no mention of any knife at all.
Police turned up about 7 minutes later.
The control room had already contacted an ambulance by then. Henry was on the ground, conscious, telling them he’d been stabbed and couldn’t breathe.
They still cuffed him because they went with what the 999 caller said.
This behaviour and belief system from the police comes from years of DEI training that pushes them to believe claims of racial crimes without proper evidence being required.
He died at the scene from that stab wound. The pathologists said it was unsurvivable.
I’m not a fan of the police — not even close.
Handcuffing a dying 18-year-old who was telling them he’d been stabbed is completely out of order.
If I thought these officers had actually committed a criminal offence here, I’d be shouting it from the rafters and demanding they get charged.
But that’s not going to happen.
The bar for bringing criminal charges against police is set really high on purpose.
You’d need to prove they deliberately abused their position or that their actions caused the death.
Henry was killed by Digwa — he’s the one who’s been convicted of murder and given life.
The officers were working off the information from the emergency call in a chaotic situation. Bad judgment at the start? Absolutely. Criminal offence? No, it doesn’t reach that level.
The IOPC are looking into the response and that could lead to discipline or changes in how things are handled.
That’s the right place for it. Criminal charges though? Not on the evidence.
Digwa’s the murderer and he’s locked up. Let’s stick to what actually happened instead of these over-the-top claims.

@hughlaurie@reginalddhunter@jan_murray Based on Janet’s critique, and having missed the party entirely so far, I now I tend to watch all (8?) series as it sounds right up my street. Just finished watching Hetty Wainthrop (4 series) on the iPlayer so I will be seeking out House via one of the catch up routes. 👍
@kitmalthouse@MDMDmydecision Shame on the unelected house. It’s time to throw out these unrepresentative people and change the system. Shame on them. We need reform to prevent this happening again.
