After Netanyahu’s speech saying there are no civilian spaces in Lebanon and calling hospitals, schools and every home a legitimate target, Israel attacked Beirut.
He stood at the UN, declared his war crimes and carried them out. This is what total impunity looks like.
If the ICJ cannot rule to prevent an active genocide that has been live-streamed to the world for over 100 days, we unequivocally know that the West has sacrificed international law for Israel and the whole world will be much more dangerous because of it
No more universities in Gaza. They have been destroyed and our academic colleagues and students killed. Epistemicide and genocide.
Where are the statements and protests from universities, academic associations and education ministers in the UK and internationally?
@socispal
I am sickened by your blatant lies and your scurrying. Your administration has repeatedly for the past MONTH doubled down on their support of Israel’s war crimes and just because you put in a statement “in accordance with international law” preemptively does not exempt you from the accountability necessary if this is the new position you wish to take. Y’all do NOT get to be this careless so casually. It is sinister to now change your narrative when as of yesterday $14.3 billion in aid was secured more funding and weapons to be sent to Israel using OUR tax dollars. Mr. Biden has also very openly lied, manipulated and callously doubled down on his support of Israel’s war crimes. You do not get to swoop in and play savior and act like we have not directly contributed to the mass murder of Palestinian civilians with our propagandist media channels and the insulting assumption that the American populace is so stupid they wouldn’t do their own research. You do not have a right to posture yourself as a savior or human rights empathizer in this moment if you do not intend on denouncing the war crimes being committed, redacting funding and the continuation of weapon supply for Israel to carry out such war crimes, and the immediate demand of a ceasefire and the end of the occupation of the Palestinian people. But you won’t do that because we have special interest in this region that we stand to profit from. STOP LYING TO YOUR CONSTITUENTS. It is grotesque!! All of you should feel so abundantly ashamed of your hypocrisy. You’re doing this all in public in case you needed a reminder.
I’ve seen Gazan journalists cry while talking about the fact that they can’t shower or properly use a bathroom but of course the real victim is the white woman with a full face of makeup in a luxury hotel, editing her videos

This phone call is from a journalist stationed at a Gaza hospital. He is able to make a call because of data roaming on Turkish SIM card. Translation:
“We’re in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. We have no idea what’s happening. There’s no connection, no Wi-Fi, no reporters. We’re cut off from everything.. People can’t call ambulances or civil defense. We are being bombed in an unprecedented manner. The sky around us just lights up [with explosions], and no one knows what’s going on. You can’t reach anyone, even if they’re only 500 meters away. Ambulances and medics are begging reporters to let them know which streets are getting bombarded to go rescue the victims but the reporters themselves don’t know where anything is happening [because of the connection loss]. We are trying to report the news but we have no idea what’s happening.”
I have been trying to reach my family in Gaza for hours with no success. All telecommunications and internet have been cut, while Israeli strikes is literally destroying Gaza from air land and sea. How many more innocent people: children, parents and grandparents will be murdered before the world steps in?
hey @elonmusk, they have completely cut off the Internet and communication in Gaza so they can carry on with their genocide in silence. If this is not an emergency then what is?

I used to be pro-Palestinian. I thought Israel was wrong for carpet bombing Gaza and using siege warfare on civilians.
But then I ran into a very wise Israel apologist who changed my way of looking at things forever.
I was walking down the street and I saw him leaning against a lamp post, smoking a pipe as wise men do.
“Your shirt says Free Palestine,” he said from behind a plume of smoke.
“Yep!” I replied.
“So I guess that means you love Hamas then?” spake he.
I stopped in my tracks. I’d never thought of it that way before.
Could it be? Could my opposition to murdering civilians really be indicative of a deep affection for a Gazan militant group? Maybe I really did love Hamas and think everything it did on October 7 was great and wonderful?
“Is this really how I want to live my life?” I thought to myself.
“I — I — I…” I said out loud.
“Or perhaps,” he said with a raised eyebrow, “you just HATE JEWS??”
I fell to my knees.
Oh my God. He really had a point. What possible reason could anyone have for opposing military explosives being dropped on buildings full of children besides a seething lifelong hatred of adherents to the religion of Judaism? How could anyone possibly oppose siege warfare tactics which cut off civilians from food and water and electricity and fuel and medical supplies unless they harbored a dangerous hostility toward members of a small Abrahamic faith?
“Who… who are you?” I asked.
“That’s of no consequence,” he said, casually blowing a smoke ring through another larger smoke ring.
“But… but the children,” I stammered as my entire worldview crumbled before my eyes. “The civilians! They’re dying! Isn’t it bad that they’re dying?”
And then he went for the coup de grâce.
“Have you considered,” he said before a pregnant pause, “… that all of those deaths are the fault of Hamas?”
I fell flat on my back. The world was spinning. A trickle of blood ran down into my hair from my ear.
I felt all the anti-colonialism leaving my body. I suddenly could no longer remember why I thought it was bad to rain down military explosives on a densely populated concentration camp.
Everything went black.
When I finally came to, the mysterious stranger was gone. But his wisdom and profound insights into Israel and Gaza will always live on in my heart.

The US government has failed to equate Hamas with ISIS, so they have moved on to equating Hamas with Putin. This of course will fail once more, but it says something major: they can only demonize Palestinian armed resistance if it’s tied to something that is already frowned upon.
I just want to mention something that a lot of people might not know. Not only is Gaza one of the most densely populated areas on earth, it is also one of the most highly educated populations on earth. I think there are more advanced degrees per capita in Gaza than any major city in the West. The Palestinians are a rich treasure of skills, knowledge, innovation, inventiveness, resourcefulness, and sheer brilliance. that has been trapped and locked out for decades, and is now being decimated. The whole world has been deprived of their collective genius, and we will never know what their contribution would have been to any number of fields, sectors, and industries, had they been allowed to participate.
Beyond unconscionable. Reporting on the hundreds of Palestinians killed in an Israeli airstrike on a hospital, @andersoncooper in real time goes from “appears to be a huge of civilian life…uhhh huge loss of life”.
Mask off dehumanization.
