@jakemalasek This is a good analysis. TLDR, there is a very small advantage in win probability going for two. Like 1-2 percent. This assumes a 50-50 chance of making the two point try. I think it’s lower now, but that works both ways. Overall, I think it’s a tossup.

@PfHamburguesa @Shenanigangsta @DanWetzel Sure. If Alabama had scheduled good teams (like Duke did), instead of Eastern Illinois and Louisiana Monroe, the situation would have been completely the same.
The problem isn’t specific to the ACC’s system even if you don’t like the result.

@red_helms @PeteThamel @ReceDavis Not a fan of Alabama (at all), but BYU lost to Texas Tech twice. Bama had already beaten Georgia once. Penalizing them for losing a team they already beat seems a bit harsh.
