but at the same time, he embraces his identity as an alien! he's open (as superman) about being kal-el from krypton, and he uses his powers with a symbol from his home planet on his chest!! the brilliance of superman is that he chooses to embrace his heritage AND his upbringing!!
// superman spoilers
THAT WASNT THE POINT EITHER!!!
the point was superman CHOSE to embrace his alien heritage by being superman AND embrace his human upbringing by overcoming his parents' purpose for sending him to earth!! he is both superman AND clark, kryptonian AND human.
The biggest issue with Superman 2025 is that it's message is:
"Superman is not an alien but actually a human"
When it should have been:
"Superman is an alien, and that's okay."
in the comics, superman constantly is choosing his humanity over his kryptonian roots. he *knows* he could be a god above men, but he doesn't care because being human among humans is *that* important to him. that's why he preserves his identity as clark kent!!
James gunn:
-never mentions Israel
-uses a pre established element of the universe introduced by superman's original creators
-writes a genocidal government backed by the US that targets primarily civilians
Zionists:
Shouldn't be understated how brave these young people are. Especially when you've got fully grown men like David Draiman crying about how the IOF can't be criticised because it's "mandatory" to join.
I remember everyone making fun of the video about they're no longer being children safe spaces on the internet.
There's barley any children focused media nowadays.
Yes and to add to this;
Punk rock is deeply anti fascist
Hobie (Spiderpunk) also had this attitude- punk isn’t just an aesthetic. It’s pro freedom and humanity
“Nazi punks” are not punk
Superman breaking all the rules to save people by stopping a war is punk as fuck
No but seriously make Pattinson the DCU Batman and do absolutely nothing to change his tone when he interacts with Superman, etc. I need things to clash so hard tonally that general audiences get whiplash
