Our week at #KubeCon was incredible! From unveiling DXI & ODA to demoing our cloud dev environments, we loved every moment. Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by, chatted with us, grabbed a LEGO kit, or built a custom minifig! Already excited for next year!
Just did a fresh macOS install — writing down what I set up:
• Superhuman: fast email client
• Ghostty: super fast terminal
• Neovim: default editor
• Raycast: better spotlight
• CleanShot X: better screenshot tool
• Notion: work notes + calendar
• Chrome: default browser
• 1Password: best password manager
• Spotify: my music hub
• Screenflow: lightweight video capture + editor
• Screen Studio: another nice video tool
The usual web dev stuff: homebrew, node, pnpm, bun. Here's my current neovim plugins: https://t.co/KOwJTLgxsF
I use zsh (default on macOS) with some customizations in my .zshrc, but pretty minimal to keep startup fast.
There's a few macOS defaults I change:
• Remap caps lock to escape
• mkdir ~/Developer (it has a fancy icon in finder!)
• Faster keyboard repeats
• defaults write -g InitialKeyRepeat -int 15
• defaults write -g KeyRepeat -int 1
• Show hidden files in finder
• defaults write https://t.co/Z8pNgbtFS8.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
That's it! Anything I'm missing? 👀
Spent the last 20 years building software & hardware companies
> Last software company sold for $100M
> Then took my company public at $2.7B
Here are my top 9 lessons learned:
In 1999, a reporter confronted Bezos:
“Is customer-obsession profitable?”
Bezos made him regret those words.
Here’s his customer-first method to build products (& how to use it):
I love watching early pitch videos of iconic startups.
$60B+ value created below. But at the start, there was only a raw deck and big dreams.

Interesting to see the 💰 that eng teams spend to fix internal dev 🔧 and dev productivity. Guess @NetflixEng has been working at this for a while? In this cost-conscious market, buying tools to fix local dev problems might just be cheaper than building in-house.
