@NursingTimes#NTAawards Privileged to be invited to this awards ceremony after a nomination for QI work delivered by our critical care and ACC quality team @LeedsHospitals improving care of maternity patients admitted to ICU. Well done all!
Just signed up for @LACTICconf two day ICU/EM/Acute Care conference in Leeds on 3rd and 4th of October 2024. Promises to be an incredible event! Looking forward to it.
Yee can do it!
This was a comeback of epic proportions by Alex Yee as he completed a RAPID sprint finish to win the men's triathlon 🌬

@LawtonTri This! Terrible from @BBCSport. Failed to show the crucial Wilde Vs Yee race moment at the end. No post race interview to shed any light on what happened. I'm sticking with @discoveryplusUK
Huge congratulations to @Fad1878 (and @BurtleDavid) for winning @ICS_updates “Critical Care Tales” with their work on shadowing the coroner. It’s been a privilege to be their educational supervisor and fantastic to see them CCT-ing (altho I’ll miss them!). 2 extraordinary DiT 👊🏻
We're so excited to get started with day one of the #NextGenPsychiatry National Trainees' Conference!
We've got some excellent speakers with talks all aligned to HLOs.
Thanks to our incredible PTC for organising 👏
@armyemdoc @RainShouting US DEVICE trial, median number of previous intubations: 50. Many "European Anaesthetists" would not be allowed near a trauma/emergency intubation without demonstration of far higher numbers. They manage difficult/emergency airways in ED daily and their opinions are valid.
Only three days to go until entries for Chevin Chase 2023 open! You can grab your place from 5pm on Sunday 8th October via https://t.co/RqHSGEfy1G Spread the word!
We are pleased to share the news that our @leedsmaternity services have been rated as good by @CareQualityComm following an inspection earlier this year!
Services at St James’s Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary were rated as good overall and good for being safe and well-led.
Bracing for the inevitable chorus of “but, but, but…. This large pragmatic multicentre RCT doesn’t apply to my specific circumstances…”
VL is better and safer than DL in ED and ICU. Simple as that.
I’ll be muting this thread now 🙉
In patients with coma who were resuscitated after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, targeted mild hypercapnia did not lead to better neurologic outcomes at 6 months than targeted normocapnia. https://t.co/4ZxFzWUsno

#CCR23: In the DEVICE trial, the use of video laryngoscopy in critically ill patients undergoing intubation in the ED or ICU resulted in a higher incidence of successful intubation on the first attempt than direct laryngoscopy. https://t.co/hi5TdfUxme
