Being a complete geek I think about this way more than I should; with news about Elliot’s transfer fee being agreed tonight it’s time to say that at least four of the current squad are some of the best I’ve ever seen playing for any teams.
Anyone remember the lockdown dream footie 11 which did the rounds. I decided they had to have played for Forest and I judged them on how they performed when I saw them. My starting 11 was Pearce at LB (and captain obvs), Mark
Crossley in goal.
Since I did it I’ve really struggled to think about who new might supplant someone in this team of great players. I think Morgan Gibbs White definitely does though; without doubt one of the best I’ve seen (but who to drop).
The problem with the reasoning that the handball was deemed accidental as the ball also came off Bryan Mbeumo’s hip before it hit his arm is that he then controlled it. It didn’t just hit his arm, he trapped the ball, clearly gaining an advantage as he turned and shot. #MUNNFO
Looking at Monday’s game the plan was obvious; Thursday’s starters get 45 minutes, Wood gets a rest.
Abbot’s injury meant he couldn’t play Thurs, Morato had to play 3 games in a week and Cunha had to play RB.
MGW’s injury meant McAtee had to start despite 90 on Mon.
Missing MGW, Murillo, Aina, Sangare, CHO made it a big ask tonight.
Didn’t help that Abbott & Savona couldn’t fill in at RB or that Netz & Taiwo weren’t either.
4:0 felt harsh as a score but we certainly deserved to lose based on the play.
Gutted tonight but proud over all.
Thoughts on last night;
We played really poorly but still did enough to win the game; you cannot miss penalties in games as tight as that.
We held a top 8 Europa League team to zero shots on target; you cannot then gift that team a goal.
Certain players are stealing a living.
I thought @skysports were awful for showing pointless things instead of the game but we missed Wrexham’s chance just before halftime so look at an ex player standing up. @tntsports sort it out. Maybe get sports fans to be the VT editors?
Slept on it; got done at home by Everton just like we did last season and the one before that. We’ve got good players, better than last season, but they’re still adjusting to their third manger this season. #NFFC
I don’t understand some of the team selections but I also don’t see the players train each week either. Some players yesterday didn’t fulfil the manager’s faith in them and I’m sure they know it.
@forestfocuspod@MattDavies_FF@Battlemuch4WW There will not be a huge amount of parking (they’d never be able to build enough spaces anyway) but transport connectivity will be handled by a committee to provide solutions (like season tickets on buses/trams, etc.).
Also working on choke points exiting stadium.
@forestfocuspod@MattDavies_FF@Battlemuch4WW My main takeaways being; new roof will be a key early development over the existing roof of the Trent End and Main Stand; the Trent End shown on the pictures is the existing height to help people have some context of size. The roof truss assembly will be a huge undertaking.
