I try to come up with a new take every year for visualizing candidates on Election Day for our digital coverage. This year, I went for this nebulous gradient look. This graphic was one of several in a matching set; this one includes the six statewide candidates in Virginia.

last week, my watercolor painting won third place in the national juried exhibit at riverviews artspace, a lovely gallery here in lynchburg.

our reporter Rachel Tillapaugh did a story earlier this week looking at the impact of SNAP benefits potentially being taken away in November. I made this graphic for her, visualizing the households in lynchburg alone which receive SNAP benefits. i’ve really been into maps lately
