"Attention Is All You Need" is such a banger title.
So glad the paper of the decade wasn't named some garbo like multi-head self attention mechanisms for enhanced sequence modeling
SCOTUS' legal opinion is not about whether Trump can deport people who are here illegally. It's about whether he can send people to rot for the rest of their lives in a foreign prison without ever proving they are what the govt says they are.
@PsyBop4TW@aronro@stshuken@greenboat I’m just confused why you think this is relevant lol. The squeeze on eg Harvard has nothing to do with the budget; it’s culture war. The cuts to funding agencies are directly made up in increased defense and immigration spending. You’re arguing an irrelevant point
@NastrondScourge@AlekceiKozlov@IterIntellectus The article is about an unambiguously good thing, and funding for similarly unambiguously good things is now imperiled
Of course reforms to reduce errors etc are welcome; that’s not what we’re getting
This is from 2020, when people were selling "86 45" merch to say Trump should be *voted out of office.* The performative outrage from some high-profile conservatives is truly embarrassing. Victim mentality on full display. ❄️
Here we go again:
1) Tariffs bring economic cataclysm.
2) Trump abandons much (not all) of tariffs.
3) Economy partially recovers.
4) MAGA looks at #3 and says "SEE! The tariffs worked!"
@mtm14@AlekceiKozlov@IterIntellectus I’m all for innovating the funding model; I’m a critic of NIH and academia in many ways. I’m both paid by NIH and an academic scientist. But what the administration is doing is simply self sabotage, just to further their culture war
@mtm14@AlekceiKozlov@IterIntellectus Ultimately, there are many problems to solve, and more smart people with new ideas on how to solve them than we can fund. We should spend more on science not less
