@WhoDeyBucks If they want to claim most heated rivalry, they need to get past the part where people are reading that and trying to figure out who their “m*****” is.
I remember the days when trading memorabilia for tattoos was career ending.
Now you gamble a cool 90k on your own games and you just have to sit out Abilene Christian.
If you don't like the consequences just sue, some judge somewhere will help you.
Welcome to college sports.
Getting free tattoos in exchange for autographs was a worse crime than illegally scouting opponents in person or literally betting on your own team.
The NCAA has lost all control.
@dsonoiki That’s my take - I think it’s good to kick some of the unexpected (maybe) profit back, at least of the $14M, just like you tip the dealer if you get hot at the table, but I don’t have sympathy for those framing it as an entitlement
@uncanny_eli@DBach218 Correct...that's not how wages work. You want to come work for less/free in exchange for % of profit, feel free to negotiate that. If you agree that your time/labor is worth X, and you're given X, transaction done.
@JustinGrimmer If you have any details on this, I’ve been trying to find if there were specific, definable, voter categories more likely to vote Raman to better understand if those could suggest having waited longer?
@Thedukeistheman@MilesianSchool@boriquagato@BillyFostedamus “The laborers decide” just moves the hard question into a meeting. Who counts as a laborer? The one-day caterer? A vendor? The IP creator? The marketing team? Do people keep shares forever? Do they share losses?
Once you elect reps to negotiate all that, you’ve invented unions.
@Thedukeistheman@MilesianSchool@boriquagato@BillyFostedamus You brought up that she doesn’t work on Marvel and still makes money from Marvel. That’s why I tested the “direct labor on the product” logic.
If the real argument is “inherited/passive ownership is bad,” that’s a narrower claim than “profit itself is exploitation.”
@Thedukeistheman@MilesianSchool@boriquagato@BillyFostedamus I’m trying to follow your logic - the “only get red v blue money” was directly the response to the point you tried to make that Abigail Disney shouldn’t get anything from the MCU because she didn’t work on it.
@Thedukeistheman@MilesianSchool@boriquagato@BillyFostedamus And now we’re full circle - wages provide a guarantee against the downside - again, if someone wants to sell their labor for some sort of percent of return, they’re allowed to - but that would logically also assume downside that having wages don’t carry.
